They already broke out of a camp in Hungary after several days when they got two sandwiches a day as "humanitarian help"
Seems Germany are trying to plan around their lack of birth rate; it's dipped dramatically recently to the point where it's expected to shrink from 80 million in 2013 to 70 million in 2060 as well as the dependency rating going way up as more and more people live to be older. It's likely the migrants are going to be an attempt at keeping a workforce for Germany intact in the years to come.
I can't highlight this enough.
Germany's reaction to this crisis is down to domestic pressures more than a sudden outburst of altruism.
The problem is that all the other European countries like Hungary are forced to pay and support the migrants that are heading to Germany. If Germany wants these people then they should be the ones to fund and transport them.
I feel like this is relevant as well - people are conflating the migrant crisis with the refugee crisis and they are separate things - people from Syria are here because they have no other choice, whilst some from stable(ish) North African states are here to seek work and we have a legal and ethical responsibility to help the former group.

Welp.... This isn't going to end well.
Do you think an event like this will, over time, change the genetic makeup of Europe over hundreds of years?
I'm all for helping those who need it, but letting in swathes and swathes of people that rapidly is going to have some hick-ups. 500,000 a year, that's practically a decent sized city of people a year. Sure Germany is resourceful and wealthy but dropping so many people into German society may result in some culture clashes, even though the Germans are considered extremely tolerant the sudden influx of people is sure to have some negative impacts. Europe definitely has to help those who are fleeing the crisis in Syria and Iraq, but what worries me most is the screening of those 500,000 people. I know there's been a lot of hype about ISIS sleeper agents within the refugees, but with such a massive intake of people I see it as nearly impossible to not take in a sizable number of ISIS agents unwittingly, which combined with the sudden injection of a large demographic to scapegoat for possible future ISIS actions in Germany (Muslims), this could potentially create a boiling pot that could result in disaster.

It doesn't. Europe has population of about 500 million, number of refugees at the moment is just a drop of water in the sea.

We have 76 cities with a population over 100k
That's 6.5k per city even with DISPROPORTIONATE rates. My town currently houses 1.5k refugees, we have 250000 people in this city.
Genuine question, not xenophobia or anything: would having such a large influx of immigrants from a war-torn country with little to no education not cause a veritable truckload of problems in the country they're migrating to?
How do you even find jobs for all these people, or are they on government handouts? This whole situation boggles my mind cause I'm a pleb and can't even begin to understand how you'd manage something of this scale without it backfiring and causing tonnes of problems.

This used to bea 22million people country. They don't have "little to no education", they are educated.
Syria used to be one of the most modern countries in the area.
Of course they are causing problems. And noone in their rght mind says they aren't.
But that's what you dotta deal with.
Some of them are teachers. Germany is in DIRE NEED for teachers.
Some of them are doctors.
The countryside is in DIRE NEED for doctors.
I know a Syrian lawyer who came here 3 years ago, he took a course at university for 1 year and is now working at a law agency in my town.(currently he's helping translating though)

Mixed feeling with this..
Seen above, military gives food to refugees but they refuse it because it was either not halal or because there was a cross on it which means something bad.

Then there is this, a permanent tent camp which is still a long way from being completely full in Mecca.
Every tent has airco, warm showers, shops, decent hygiene and more and yet they all travel to Europe.
Watch as the German economy doesn't collapse and the world doesn't end.
The way this refugee crisis is being handled by Germany is going to be amazing for the list of reasons people in the UK want to leave the EU
I just heard how Saudi Arabia refuses to take in any refugees for some shit madeup reason, but they offered to build 200 mosques in germany. This whole "refuge" crisis is such a fucking joke, mainly beacuse most of these are no refugees. 70% of them being young males, bitch please. I saw videos of the kind of shit they do in Greece, i don`t want them anywhere near my country, call me a racist if you want. Only women and children should be helped and the ones that really need help, not the ones that refuse it and throw water given to them on train tracks.

What is your source for that statistic?
What's with everyone thinking Syria is some third world shithole with no education

Why do you take one video to make up your mind about approx 4 million people?

not accepting something because it's not halal is BS in Islam. Allah even says if you have no choice then you can eat it. The same for Ramadan, if you must maintain your wits about you then you do not need to fast you can do it another month.
Yes, it all sounds stupid, but that's religion for you anyway.
Canada only has a population of like 35million or so. and we have a lot of open land, we can take millions, but they might get cold since the open land is like in the territories. building some camps in Canada wouldn't be the worst idea. like North Sask area.
If the NDP and/or Liberals take this stance they're fucked. Conservatives would win a landslide if they did.
I might even support them.

That's what that picture is pointing out.
Saudi Arabia flatout refuses to take in refugees while they easily could take in those refugees and could take care of them better than most European countries can.
It would also not cause a massive culture clash as what's happening now in Europa.
Instead, people start whining when Eastern European countries are not willing to take refugees/immigrants in while Saudi Arabia doesn't get any flak from politicans for doing the same while they are objectively better suited to house refugees with those facilities. It is pretty damn hypocritical of them.
What's with everyone thinking Syria is some third world shithole with no education
Its worth noting that not all of the migrants and refugees are from Syria. Even then not all education transfers over to more developed countries. The differences between people from secular democracies and Islam dominated autocracies are also pretty large.
A person choosing to go to Europe without a civil war is more likely to be a forward thinking person.

Honestly, its because slavs are generally whiter people and its perceived that they benefit from "white privilege" and should also ante up for white guilt.
Saudi Arabia on the other hand are "poor brown people". People are more likely to forgive Islam based bigotry than they are to forgive christian bigotry for this very reason.
jesus christ the amount of racism in this thread is disgusting
what would you rather do? put them back in their war-torn countries to die?
people keep bringing up isolated incidents like that video and the Rochdale sex trafficking thing (saw someone using it as an argument on another site - those guys weren't even from Syria! They were British! "oh but they're all muslims" - blatant islamophobia)

Those East European countries are part of the EU. If we're going to tackle this crisis we're going to have to do it together, part of the deal.
Dutch news just placed a pretty informative article on the Arabic Gulf states and their unwillingness to take in refugees: http://nos.nl/artikel/2056775-vluchtelingencrisis-is-een-schande-voor-de-arabieren.html
Seems it's largely a demographic balance issue. The Gulf states are very afraid of social unrest if they let in a lot of refugees, which says a lot about the perceived stability of these places as compared to the EU which knows it can take in millions of refugees and not fall apart.
Those East European countries are part of the EU.
Sadly EU has been less than supportive of Eastern Europe. All it did for us was close down our factories and after switch to Euro our prices pretty much match wealthier countries while our wages do not. Many feel bitter about EU now.
You people are all so fucking naively optimistic about this, it's hilarious and really sad
These refugees are not going to leave when the war is over
You will not be able to deport any significant number of them
This will end in riots, demands and other violence
Mark my words, because I am certain that you will bitterly regret yours
World war white here we go :v:

Sounds like a great hiring tool for ISIS. "They want to kick you out? Join us and we will help you stay."
