The government LABELED it a war. It was never voted on in congress. just like korea, gulf, and nam. we have not been in a war since ww2
conflict, etc. then stop fucking arguing semantics
avoiding the 11x mos is pretty easy, that is my point yeah - there are a lot of infantry positions, but the fact is there are plenty of other jobs available you aren't forced into infantry - you volunteer for it hurf durf
Okay, but it's easy for anyone to get swindled, especially if you're ignorant about the military.
I'll call it an illegal use of power. Is that alright?
source? [editline]01:45AM[/editline]
No, you do it to serve your country. And, I do have plans to join the Army after college.
lol and what do you think "serving your country" might involve? what do you think they spend countless hours training and indoctrinating soldiers for? [editline]01:45AM[/editline] you shouldn't join the military if you don't want to face the possibility of being deployed
Okay, but it's easy for anyone to get swindled, especially if you're ignorant about the military.
resorting to "what ifs" because you are completely misinformed
Wisconsin Veteran? "If Midwest Realty Management doesn't shape up soon, they'll have a flag-shaped foot up their asses."
avoiding the 11x mos is pretty easy, that is my point yeah - there are a lot of infantry positions, but the fact is there are plenty of other jobs available you aren't forced into infantry - you volunteer for it hurf durf
they can put you wherever they want. especially if you don't have a lot of things going for you. they'll gladly assign someone who only has a high school diploma, not that great ASVAB scores, and not that great PT scores to infantry. now if you have a college degree, good PT scores, etc. then you'll have more say in your career but ultimately it's their choice.
resorting to "what ifs" because you are completely misinformed
I'm sorry if not everyone is a grizzled veteran like yourself. People are obviously signing up for infantry, so there's a hole in your theory right there.
I'm sorry if not everyone is a grizzled veteran like yourself. Someone is obviously signing up for infantry, so there's a hole in your theory right there.
what does he expect to do there?
I fucked up, I meant people, not someone.
Someone is obviously signing up for infantry, so there's a hole in your theory right there.
no, that doesn't put a hole in his theory. it proves nothing. a lot of people will sign up for infantry voluntarily because they're the gung ho guys who think they're badass and then once they get in and learn what infantry really is they regret it.
Why are you arguing about the definition of war? This is a matter of a property owners rights.
no, that doesn't put a hole in his theory. it proves nothing. a lot of people will sign up for infantry voluntarily because they're the gung ho guys who think they're badass and then once they get in and learn what infantry really is they regret it.
Which is exactly what I said. People are ignorant of the military.
Which is exactly what I said. People are ignorant of the military.
your point? we should give stupid people recognition for nothing?
your point? we should give stupid people recognition for nothing?
For risking their lives? Sure why not. Why would anyone sign up for the military at all if there was no pride in it? [editline]01:53AM[/editline] If no one cared, it'd just be an extremely dangerous job, with terrible hours and poor pay.
nah, i said you had to be stupid to join the infantry. and yeah. it is unfortunate that some are placed into infantry because of poor asvap scores. but those fall into the stupid category ( joking btw )
For risking their lives? Sure why not. Why would anyone sign up for the military at all if there was no pride in it? [editline]01:53AM[/editline] If no one cared, it'd just be an extremely dangerous job, with terrible hours and poor pay.
no, the recognition will always come. People are so willing to look past the politics and the nature of a conflict and are so ready to look at the shiny new guns.
no, the recognition will always come. People are so willing to look past the politics and the nature of a conflict and are so ready to look at the shiny new guns.
Same thing goes for anything. People are shallow and greedy. You're readily willing to forget your shoes are made in some disgusting sweatshop, and you only care about the fact that they are new and they are yours.
I specifically am more willing to thank someone who contributes to society then some camo fashion-model
Yeah but I dare to say you're somewhat smart. People who are willing to risk their life "for their country" deserve more respect than their friends who work at McDonalds and flip burgers.
Yeah but I dare to say you're somewhat smart. They deserve a fuckton more recognition than they already get
It's a rented property, and the Landlord is trying to stay neutral on the subject.
American flag =/= Nazi Flag
Instead of murdering innocent people in the name of fascism. We do it in the name of democracy.
Instead of murdering innocent people in the name of fascism. We do it in the name of democracy.
Are you honestly trying to compare the United States to fucking Nazi Germany?
What happened to freedom of religion?
"As a veteran, it sickens me that the Dawn and Charlie Price's building management company would imply that the American flag could be construed as offensive by their residents," said Ryan Gallucci, a spokesman for AmVets.
Immigrants should show loyalty to the country they move to. If they find our fucking flag offensive, then they should get the fuck out.
Private property = property owner's rules. People can't come into your yard and put signs and flags all over the place and what's happening in this article is no different.
I was raised home-schooled, so I never got a high school diploma, but I had always planned on joining the Air Force. So I did the equivalent, I got 15 college credits, which counts as a full high school diploma. With that I took the ASVAB and scored "exceptionally well" for someone without a real diploma. Currently in Tech School for advanced UAV piloting. I'm not saying I demand more respect than Joe Shmoe who is a CPA down the road, or someone who makes sandwiches at Subway. But I still get it. I've had numerous people come up to me and thank me for something I've not done yet. For "Fighting for our country." Really what does that even mean anymore? My job will consist mainly of collecting hours and hours of visual data. I'll be "Fighting for your freedom." no more than Google Maps. I don't demand your respect, you can keep it to your damn self. All I ask is that you give it to the people that deserve it. Whether that be an Army Ranger, A Fire Fighter, a teacher. All of these people do what others can't, myself included. They help you, protect you, teach you, make sure your life is lived to the fullest and safest. You can turn your nose to these people all you want, but it's because of them, and people with countless other careers, that your sitting in your bedroom in some 'burb reading this.
American flag =/= Nazi Flag
History Lesson! America has done the following in the last 200 Years! -Force Native Americans on the Trails of Tears -Has almost accidentally nuked Spain a few times. -Tried to invade Canada more then once - Waves cock around like it's a hen farm. -Told Eskimos they can't hunt whales ,and force them to only hunt one every year. -Disallow anyone too freely cross the border ,and become an American citizen (which some consider a better life... lol) -Prosecuted many muslims ,and took away area which was considered sacred to Islamics I can keep typing. Their are many, many reasons why people hate America. [editline]04:59AM[/editline]
Immigrants should show loyalty to the country they move to.
