Who's the Suda51 of the movie world?
quentin tarantino Both are a pair of nutjobs who make nutjob products :v:, amazing ones though
not fucking blizzard as much as I hate to bandwagon, valve is probably the actual pixar of game development
all of blizzards games are amazing so i kinda agree here
No they are not. They have had many failed and bad games but they buried those really deep and they are not spoken of. Only games people actually know from them are pretty much the WC and SC series.
I love how all the band wagoners in this topic have gone into a blind, internet rage mode because Value wasn't compared, it's just someone else's opinion, not yours. People really need to realize that other video game companys are allowed to be praised apart from Value.
Nintendo or valve without a doubt.
Nintendo or valve without a doubt.
Nintendo would be a fair comparison to Disney. They made really good and new shit at first, but now they're just milking their characters for all they're worth.

They single-handedly started the modern generation of stationary and portable consoles. Just as pixar started the 3d-animation scene.

Look at this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blizzard_Entertainment#Titles There's two shitty games in there after Orcs and Humans but after that point it's all well-known games.
erm i dunno if any 1 has pointed this out but im p sure there talking about the animations that blizz do since they have the best cinematics in the games industry hands down
Nintendo would be a fair comparison to Disney. New Super Mario Bros for both the DS and Wii was really good, Mario VS Sonic Olympic games is a really fun game to play with friends too, Mario Kart Wii still has the same feel and Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are fantastic games.
I'd like to say I disagree, but I really don't. They both develop their work with the same sort of style.
If you look at the content of every Blizzard game, it's just pure art. I love Valve, but their games aren't as massive and in-depth as Blizzard's. You can grab a cup of coffee (or two) and sit down to read the entire storyline of Half Life, but you'll need a dozen to read Warcraft's. Saying that blizzard games suck is the same as saying a pixar movie sucks because they used a different style of animating. This article isn't talking about the game mechanics, it's talking about the content.
If Valve and Blizzard switched places 15+ years ago, Valve making RTS/MMOs, and Blizzard with FPSs, What Valve would have created would be extremely similar to what we know as Starcraft or Warcraft. The same goes for Blizzard. Their FPS would be similar to Half Life. The companies are very much alike except that they make different genres of videogames. You can't call either company shit unless you are blinded by fanboyism.

I've played Blizzards game alot more than Valves game and I've enjoyed Blizzards game alot more than Valves game but that's just how I personally feel about it and just because of that I don't think Blizzard are better than Valve.
HL series is the worst Valve ever made... i stand by my word. it has no replayability and it looks like bull now. it was just a quick but damn bright flash in the history of gaming. people should get over it. Team Fortress, Portal and all those ingenious mods is where Valve is at. thats their strongest point. But as far as im concerned, they dont deserve the title... blizzard kinda does... but not really. it was a mistake by pixar to even say such things, now the internet is broken. My apostrophe button is gone... so i type like a fucking monkey!
Actually, I'd call id the Pixar of games. Innovators.
I'm gonna stick with Insomniac on this one.
I think TF2 is an absolute heap of shit. So is Blizzard.
hardcore agree
While I have to agree with many people here that Valve deserved it, I just wish that Valve would spread into new genres. Yeah they're the best at FPS, but I don't think that it means that they should be constrained to only FPS, as with Valve's talent I'm sure that they wouldn't release a shit game nowadays, even in a genre that isn't FPS (had to include the "nowadays" due to Ricochet). It took Blizzard a few tries to nail the right genres, but they achieved it after about a dozen games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blizzard_Entertainment#Titles Blizzard does make rather polished and nice games, WoW doesn't count in my book though because the purpose of MMO is simply to be addictive rather than good. Unfortunately, who knows what will happen with Activision now taking part, they've already slightly fucked Starcraft 2 by removing LAN and making certain maps cost money.
I think TF2 is an absolute heap of shit. So is Blizzard.
Oh god what
Thats a weird way to misspell valve.
Am I the only person who doesn't like WoW after finding it too similar to a majority of free mmos?
Am I the only person who doesn't like WoW after finding it too similar to a majority of free mmos?
I didn't find anything bad about WoW, I just thought it was plain boring; but to think of it, I've never really been into MMORPG.
quentin tarantino Both are a pair of nutjobs who make nutjob products :v:, amazing ones though
No, John Waters is the Suda51 of the movie world. Team Silent is the Brad Anderson of games.
