for those wanting to play battlegrounds online, I play regular matches through gameranger. We should all get together and play a PvE match.
I'm totally up for it but I do suck so much.
Anyone who is interested in XWA should check out X-Wing Allinace Upgrade. Their full craft pack doesn't work with GOG right now because it scans for the CD when installing, but they plan on updating the installer soon http://www.xwaupgrade.com http://www.darksaber.xwaupgrade.com/ Individual craft installer work though. [editline]20th January 2015[/editline]
This is why i love GoG, because they know how to figure shit out.
Actually, it wasn't them. It was a user on the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade forums who fixed it. You can find the readme and licencing file for the fix in the install folder. [editline]21st January 2015[/editline] Here is a bug fix for the oversized 3D models that show up in mission briefings https://onedrive.live.com/download?resid=A8E80620371994FB%21132
Galactic Battlegrounds? FUCK YESSSSSSSSSS
Does online multiplayer for Galactic Battlegrounds work for retail copies, or would I need to grab it through GoG? Good to have a new wave of people to play with, multiplayer in that game has been dead for years.
Republic is the best faction because good guys wear white. Empire is cool too. (buy me it ill 1v1 anyone)
I congratulate the GOG guys Been with them since they were quite unknown, back when Operation Flashpoint was still named Operation Flashpoint and their catalog was reduced to old, but well known games. They must be making a hugeload of monies off this...a good model to follow, improving in all aspects: Customer service, quality, security and offer.
Galactic Battlegrounds on GoG?! That's a dream come true! I've been keeping my childhood alive thanks to that site and now it continues to live even longer.
I fucking love GoG. Sacrifice, Shogo, Outcast. So many gems of gaming preserved though all i want from lucasarts is outlaws. that was a stand up shooter
DEAR GOD ALMIGHTY YES Time to re-download the XWA upgrade pack and play the best star wars space sim
There are really no words to express how fucking thrilled I am to be able to play XWA again. Gotta wait for the upgrade pack to get fixed so it stops checking for a CD, but either way this is fantastic.
Also does anyone have a fix so I can launch Battlegrounds in a better resolution/widescreen?
Suckers! I still play Star Wars Battlefront II the old fashioned way. With all four discs!
Man I'm so tempted to get Galactic Battlegrounds since it sounds like the colours etc. were fixed but I still have it on discs and just can't really justify it...
Where is Republic Commando
More games have been added:
Empire at War: Gold Rouge Squadron 3D (Digital premiere) Star Wars: Rebellion (Digital premiere)
The site says another batch is coming monday
Anybody know why Battlefront 1 never got a digital release like on steam or gog?
Pretty sure BF 1 was a PS2 exclusive. Also, I know where my money is going as soon as I get a job. Yes, a new computer but also sweet star wars vidya.
Forget Battlegrounds, EaW is the better RTS. Knowing GoG they've probably fixed all the issues that the steam version has. EaW had really fun space battles but the ground battles are outright awful
Pretty sure BF 1 was a PS2 exclusive. Also, I know where my money is going as soon as I get a job. Yes, a new computer but also sweet star wars vidya.
No, I played BF1 on PC, not digital though. [editline]22nd January 2015[/editline] Rogue Squadron oh my god.
If only GoG could convince a big publisher to let them distribute their AAA games. I would love if eventually, DRM-free was the way everyone decided to go, instead of having you lock your games down on Origin or Steam or some other program.
Doesn't Battlefront 2 use Gamespy?
Still waiting for the XWA upgrade pack installer to get fixed, but does anyone know a way to make the game run properly in a widescreen resolution?
but does anyone know a way to make the game run properly in a widescreen resolution?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xwahacker/ Very straight forward, the readme makes it clear.
Republic is the best faction because good guys wear white. Empire is cool too. (buy me it ill 1v1 anyone)
[t]http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130318061027/starwars/images/f/fc/Stormtrooper_Corps.png[/t] Ahem...
I hope they'll release Episode 1: Racer aswell.
Does Rogue Squadron work? It didn't run on my computer because it hates AMD GPUs or something, does the GoG release fix that?
Rogue Squadron when? It doesn't work on modern GPU's :(
RD3D is out now on GOG, came out Thursday. Works fine. Apparently on the 27th they're adding Dark Forces 2, Star Wars: Starfighter and Republic Commando.
