• Ministry Of Defence Shows Off Futuristic Uniform Design (And it looks silly)
The pants are my only real problem with this concept. For a uniform that looks to have been designed to be very sleek and lightweight, why did they give it flappy parachute pants? Make those a little more formfitting, and slap some kneepads on, and you're good to go. That's a highly mobile uniform that isn't going to get in your way as you crawl and run and do your soldierly biz. Maybe not as stylish as the shit you see in video games, but highly functional. Assuming, at least, that the tech built into the helmet is hardy enough not to constantly need repairs. While I understand the intent of cameras and HUD's, I could foresee real issues with subjecting those things to heat, muck, and rain on a daily basis.
The pants look fine, they don't look any bigger than what the Army or Marines are issued. Probably the way he is standing in that first picture makes them look huge.
What is that tube running over the shoulder for?
Or it could be a water container similar to a camelbak for easy water access during the field
It looks like a power chord connected to aa flashlight.
It's a camelbak, it's connected to the pouch on his back. It's for water.
Or it could be a water container similar to a camelbak for easy water access during the field
It's actual a last resort to surprise foes. Squirts water like the flower a clown wears.
It doesn't look too bad compare it to this [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/spanish_army_comfut_1-tfb.jpg[/t]
Bullets would be the least of his worries, if someone knocked his ass down he'd be immobilized.
It's actual a last resort to surprise foes. Squirts water like the flower a clown wears.
I wish they worked like that lol, most you can do is make a weak ass stream come out.
Or it could be a water container similar to a camelbak for easy water access during the field
Yeah, that's definitely a drinking tube connected to his camelbak. I've still got mine in a box in the basement somewhere.

Few more generations and we'll have something like this. Helmet wise.
Once the helmet and the body armour have fabric covers on them they'll look completely different anyway. Look at pictures of a Mark7 Helmet with and without fabric covers.
Whatever those are on the top of the helmet, they need to be moved so that the top of the helmet sticks higher than they do. How often do you hit your head in a cramped military vehicle? Answer: A lot

Easier to maintain, cheaper since not everyone would need to and would solve the logistics issues you highlighted.
Dumb shit that a POG designed.
It's a camelbak, it's connected to the pouch on his back. It would make sense for them to incorporate it into a "future warrior" program, its easier to drink from there than to lug a canteen around on your harness
nice helmet, guy
Except nobody puts water inside (its always some flavoured drink)
Its either water or energy drink powder water here, havent ever heard of anyone putting anything else in them.
Looks like a camo version of the TR armour from Planetside. I like everything but the helmet, which needs more neck protection.
I feel like that technology can be so easily broken on the field, and if they're using bluetooth//cellular couldn't they technically be seen pretty easily as the signal would give up their location?
I can't take the helmet seriously. It looks like something out of an old Sci-Fic story, like what they wore in Spaceballs. The armor looks a bit silly as well.
Its either water or energy drink powder water here, havent ever heard of anyone putting anything else in them.
Yeah, I meant energy drink powder. Ours is flavoured. This is the shit.
idk maybe it'd look better if they had a buff guy to model for them instead of someone who looks like an actual minister of defense

I like how real life is coming closer to really being like space marines.
If I should see some here (which problably wont happen ever) then I will be sure to get some. But usually we just use the one that comes in a standard defence forces nato 24h food pack.
It'll probably never happen. Just like literally every single other 'future soldier' concept that's been shown. I'm sure that bits and peices of various concepts have come into service or have been re-worked into stuff that actually works, but I'm fairly sure none of these 'future soldier' ideas have ever left the mockup stage.
What a weirdly particular choice of male model. He looks so... specific. Is his name Nigel? He looks like his name would be Nigel.
