To anyone thinking they were concerned the can was a bomb, I'm fairly sure they were concerned there was a terrorist on board threatening the use of a bomb located somewhere else (not that the can itself was the bomb).

Though it seems to be working- I haven't heard of any terrorist plane bombings in a while in the US flights.
As long as at the end of the day it gets the job done. I'd rather have a delayed flight than an emergency landing at top speeds halfway through.

That's actually a pretty good reverse logic, identify something as a clear threat so that everyone will think it's a joke and ignore it, except in this case they didn't.

That would make sense if they made random check of the passengers drinks, but they never do. So writing "BOMB" on it is useless and pretty risky. I mean, with a normal drink you won't have any problem anyway, so why take this risk?
