I do agree that he was in his late forties and not 40 (after reading a little more closely, it was a mistake on my part), but I don't see why that would be a lie from the media.

I was watching a video of it on LiveLeak ([url]http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=bbf_1337091423[/url]) and read a piece from CNN:

They didn't even put the fire out at all, they threw his jacket and hat off then the police go to treat him immediately while you can clearly see the clothes still burning.
