THIS JUST IN AUSTRALIA BANS AUTISM :australia:
It isn't a cage, it's an internment facility for the socially challenged. There's a big difference!
Thank fuck I didn't go to that school, then. (Although i'm Asperger's, but I guess they'd classify it as in the same boat as autism)
Australia: We sure are first world, but we act like a third world country :downs:
i guess you could say i want to break your face
News puns that start with "I guess you could say..." are allways bad. Stop it already.
I guess you could say news puns that start with "I guess you could say," are indeed, bad.
Although i'm Asperger's
Can you prove it ?
i guess you could say i want to break your face
you mean fac
Would you people quit with the "xD", ":p" and ":D" 's? Its makes you all look like your 9 again. Use real emotes, and not as often; /misc.php
You seem just as young for using "your" instead of "you're".
Am I the only one who sort of agrees with this? Many severely mentally handicapped people actually don't have a sense of boundary or self restraint, having them kept in a safer environment until properly able to keep themselves from going onto a busy highway sounds like a good idea to me. Of course the area would have to be well maintained and safe, I'm not saying toss them into an animal pen, just have a fenced off area that they can safely play without them being able to hurt themselves doing things that normal kids wouldn't do.
I agree to a point, autistic kids shouldn't be around normal kids to much. Altercations could occur. But atleast give them a good place to play in.
Yeah they should have their own area to play in, children can be so cruel so its best for them.
Thank fuck I didn't go to that school, then. (Although i'm Asperger's, but I guess they'd classify it as in the same boat as autism)
That explains a lot.
I still cant stop laughing hahahhahaha :downsbravo:
oh god I hate this place sometimes
Did they seriously put autistic children in cages?
:wtc:
Placing boundaries is perfectly fine, all of you are too fucking critical. The problem is that they're not accommodating them with a better environment like more trees, grass instead of dirt, more benches, etc.
Did they seriously put autistic children in cages?
They're large cages. Deluxe or something
I believe that's Aspergers more specifically. It's still a form of Autism though.
Aspergers I can read it, But when I say that word. I end up hearing "Assburgers" am i autistic?
Did they seriously put autistic children in cages?
They put them in a fenced off area from the rest of the children
pupils with special needs are placed inside a fenced enclosure that has one tree, a bench and a dirt floor.
So sort of like a zoo unfortunately.
God dammit, now Australia is going to ban autism
So they're going to remove the cage and hope they don't wander into the street?
Holy crap, my school is entirely surrounded by a big fence. Shit Shit Shit!
As if the Shadow the Hedgehog avatar wasn't suspect enough.
Austic kids do have a habit of not understanding the boundaries as per rules. Using the term "cage" is a tad overboard, but they put them in a fenced area, where they physically can't run away. Many more schools do this around the world than the media makes news on, this isn't a first. Teachers aren't allowed to physically restrain the child, and many autistic kids will just wander out of the school boundaries. So the easiest and safest way it to keep them in a physically enclosed area. Would you all prefer it if they sent them to a special school for autistic kids? Where they didn't even give them the chance to play with people there own age (it says in the article they do mix them in once they are satisfied the child will listen to instructions)? Or where they learn with just other autistic kids. At least this way they are getting to be educated and use resources (ie library, classroom) with others and they do eventually get mixed in. On the other hand, I agree the conditions inside the area are crap. They do need more inside it than what they are getting.
