We have a ton of koalas up where I live, though I understand there is a problem elsewhere. Though, I don't really see how this is shaming us, the only thing that really lies on the shoulders of people is watch the dog a bit more carefully. Though, koalas are really aggressive, so there's that. If only it was the drop bears getting killed, so I would have to wear this helmet whilst I hop to work at the emu races on my kangaroo.

ITT: Americans think they know Australia. In most parts of Australia Koala's are considered pests and are very dangerous to prey because their meat is poisonous. They may look cute but in reality they have very sharp claws, carry STis and kill wildlife with their poisonous meat. Also 15 dead koalas in a week isn't alot.

Seriously, Koalas are the dumbest damn creatures I have even seen. On camp in 2007 we saw one literally just fall out of a tree, they get drunk off all the eucalyptus leaves.

All koalas do is sleep and eat leaves, I'm surprised so many are being hit by cars.

While they're endangered in some states, they're thriving in Victoria. Our Koala population is continuing to grow.

Cassowarys are under pressure from vehicle impacts as well because no one cares enough to slow down in areas where a Cassowary might suddenly walk across the road or be around a corner.
