Whaaaaaaaaat. Dang, I always wondered if everybody saw everything differently. Maybe black to me is your green or something.
If you watch one of the recommended clips about the same thing, this comes up: Always bet on duke.
- Go to sleep - Try to have a lucid dream - Fuck any person that you think is sexually appealing - Record it and watch - Grats! you just made your own porn
- Go to sleep - Try to have a lucid dream - Fuck any person that you think is sexually appealing - Record it and watch - Grats! you just made your own porn
nice job not reading the article or watching the video and then making an unfunny joke
This is fucking revolutionary in my opinion. The fact that you can watch a movie with your own eyes, then have your brain talk to a computer to generate a similar image from your head to recreate the movie! I would love to sleep in the machine and basically record whatever movie that plays in my dream! The future is here gents.
It's like our brains store all visual information in a compressed code and only it knows how to decode it.
Makes me proud to go to that school.
At the 0:12 mark you can see that some people literally have watermarks embedded into their brain. :v: [editline]22nd September 2011[/editline] I'm thinking about
Moving watermarks too. Anyone wanna try to make their dreams lucid? http://www.consciousdreaming.com/lucid-dreaming/how-to-lucid-dream.htm#one
Am I the only one that thought something like this could happen?
It's not directly recording but it's still incredibly impressive.
Quite a triumph, even if the first draft is a bit surreal and blurry. Further insights may be granted once we tune up the resolution.
I think it would be amazing if this led to a way somebody could project their thoughts onto a computer monitor. Example, I'm trying to explain what something looks like and I just go "hold on," put on my Polaroid brain cap and think you up some shit right on the TV. How fucking easy would that shit be? But ultimately, I agree with a lot of people this is on the border of Creepistan, but that place always has good shit. I hope they can do it with sounds and music. I can actually make up some music and sounds in my head just by thinking and being able to record that would be incredible.
Ok I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish here with the gibberish videos.. Like, how is the video footage same as seen through a mind or something? What the fuck?
I doubt this is real, why would there be perfect text in the reconstruction?
I doubt this is real, why would there be perfect text in the reconstruction?
Read the article. Hell, read the posts. They reconstruct the brain activity with youtube videos that the algorithm they used chose. This is just the first babystep into the whole technology, obviously they can't re-create it from scratch right now. In 20-50 years time they might have got something quite accurate.
Think to yourself
...thinkinging of yourself, thinking of yourself. endless loop
I'm not that impressed by this.
The point is that it's recognizing images from brain activity. It's just using it's library of Youtube videos as a reference. I find that incredibly impressive.
The adult entertainment industry will never be the same again.
I'm not that impressed by this.
What's that? Reconstructed images of brain activity? Elbows too pointy.
They must improve on it! Throw them tons of money to work faster!
Too bad this will never show you these weird dreams that aren't even possible in real life because there's no corresponding video material to match it with.
Too bad this will never show you these weird dreams that aren't even possible in real life because there's no corresponding video material to match it with.
Until they find some way for it to generate images
Too bad this will never show you these weird dreams that aren't even possible in real life because there's no corresponding video material to match it with.
The fuck are you talking about? They can't do it now. I can guarantee you that in the future they will be able to re-create it without use of external sources like images and videos.
I for one would like to see more of this. It's really interesting to see the brain work like that, and how much it wanders during the video. Really, Really interesting.
I hope they can do it with sounds and music. It's the colour issue that might be a problem as some people can't see colour in their dreams/mind. Personally I can.
Sweet. A few years ago, House MD showed something similar. Although, it involved the subject looking at about 8 hours of random video clips in order for the program to learn how to brain worked.
