Because those blocks are a multi-million dollar company in which every aspie sucks the CEO's dick.
They are? They look just like ordinary cubes to me.
Whatever, sure I'm butthurt, yes I'm raging, yeah you can chuck changelogs at me and mix my words so it looks like you're right and get everryyyone to agree with you, but you're the ones who're gonna end up paying more money for the same product I paid 5 pounds for, so phhbbtttt
Lol. Who cares? To be honest, Notch should just set the layout and modders should do the rest.
phhbbtttt
Phhhbbbtttttt
Notch should release downloadable content for 15 dollars.
Minecraft: Vietnam [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Also if I ask for a refund I'll be getting £5 more than I paid for originally.
Minecraft: Vietnam
Minecraft: Dead Money
Minecraft: Dead Money
It was funnier when Lust did it
It was funnier when Lust did it
Minecraft: Broken Steel
Minecraft: Broken Steel
Please stop running it into the ground
Please stop running it into the ground
You're right.
If you're gonna complain about some guy delaying a "single line of code", maybe you should go out and get some fresh air.
People are right to have complaints regarding the bugs and general laziness of the developers. Some of the bugs are so mundane and easy to fix that it staggers the mind Notch hasn't done anything about them yet. You can still support Minecraft like you always have and find flaws in the developer's methods. In fact, criticizing Notch is probably a good thing as it will force him to maintain certain standards of quality. If you're one of those people who says "STOP CRITICIZING NOTCH THE GAME IS FINE" then you are only impeding progress and generally just being a big stupid fanboy. The game obviously has its flaws and Notch should be focusing on fixing those flaws more than anything else.
"Keep adding features after the release" Oh you mean like you're just calling it a release so it'll gain a lot more profit on the relatively regular update. AND OH YOU MEAN LIKE YOU JUST REALIZED CARD GAMES AND FOOTBALL SIMULATORS ARENT SUCH A GOOD IDEA AND WILL MOST LIKELY ANNOUNCE YOU'VE "RECONSIDERED" THEM AFTER YOU "RELEASE" MINECRAFT. Also why are all the minecraft fans in the megathread getting excited over him adding weather, weather was ALREADY IN THE GAME, yet they're all like OMG HE'S FINALLY WORKING ON MINECRAFT. He's fucking NOT, rain and snow were ALREADY IN THE GAME, he's literally just switching a False to a True to reenable them! Gosh everyone rages at Notch when he releases nothing for 2 months, then when he reveals his 2 months of work is A COOKIE AND A BED everyone starts sucking his dick. Will you all learn that Notch is a really, REALLY, REALLY lazy worker and a bad coder who doesn't deserve the fame he has. RAIN AND SNOW HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME SINCE INDEV, HE'S NOT WORKING, HE'S LYING TO YOU. And why is EVERY SINGLE MINECRAFT UPDATE GETTING A THREAD! There was a thread for the BED UPDATE, THREE MONTHS OF WORK ON A SINGLE BED MODEL THAT HE DIDNT MAKE, DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY ON RELEASE, AND CAME WITH A HOST OF NEW BUGS AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES, HE DIDN'T EVEN COMPLETELY ADD THE BED, THE SPAWN CHANGING FEATURE HE PROMISED WAS POSTPONED FOR A MONTH, A MONTH TO ADD A SINGLE LINE OF CODE, AND THEN EVEN THAT IS NOW COMPLETELY BUSTED AND FUCKED UP. I CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYONE HAS BOUGHT INTO HIS WHOLE "BETA" "RELEASE" BULLCRAP, HE DOESN'T EVER TRULY UPGRADE MINECRAFT FROM ALPHA TO BETA, OR BETA TO RELEASE, HE JUST CHANGES THE TITLE FOR A NEW WAVE OF BUYERS, ALONG WITH REMOVING FEATURES FOR NEW PURCHASERS WITH THE RELEASE, TO MAKE SURE HE CAN GET MORE MONEY FROM THEM FOR FUTURE EXPANSIONS. A YEAR AGO THE SECRET FRIDAY UPDATES HAD MORE CONTENT THAN THE FRICKEN BETA UPDATE, BUT CAME WITH LIKE 200 LESS BUGS AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES, AND DIDNT FORCE NEW PURCHASERS TO PAY MORE, NOTCH IS A MONEY GRABBING LAZY FUCK WHO'S BRAIN HAS BEEN LOST IN A TIDAL WAVE OF MONEY AND PORN AND BOOZE AND HOOKERS AND NO DENTAL WORK BECAUSE HIS FRONT 2 TEETH REALLY SUCK. AND I DONT EVEN LIKE HIS FUCKING HAT. :( AND DONT FUCKING USE THE WOLVES AS AN EXAMPLE FOR HIM WORKING, MODDERS HAD ALREADY DONE THE EQUIVALENT MONTHS BEFORE HE DID, AND THEY DID IT A HELL OF A LOT BETTER, THE WOLF MODEL? ITS LIKE 3 FUCKING BLOCKS, WITH A 16 BIT TEXTURE. I COULD HAVE MADE THE FUCKING WOLF UPDATE MYSELF WITH 10 MINUTES OF FUCKING AROUND IN MS PAINT AND BLENDER WITH NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE, THEN TOOK SOME MODDERS CODE (LIKE NOTCH FUCKING DOES, AND DONT DENY IT, THE ENTIRE CRUX OF ONE OF HIS LARGEST UPDATES WAS TAKING 2 MODS AND CLAIMING CREDIT FOR THEM) AND SHOVED IT IN, AND I STILL WOULDN'T HAVE PUT IN AS MANY BUGS AS NOTCH DID, WITH AN ENTIRE COMPANY WORKING UNDER HIM AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND AFTER LIKE 3 MONTHS OF WORK.
So Notch = Satan?
Why dosent notch just take in some of the truly amazing mods out there and include them in the actually minecraft? it would be like a totally customizable minecraft, with whatever mods you wanted working together to create your favorite game. it would be better than a bed update and mods are constantly being made. Not to mention the fact that it would give modders an actual source of income except noble donations. i mean common, imagine industrialcraft with portalcraft, and the aether? i dont mean ALL of the mods in the game, but just the ones that you choose before starting the game. maybe like a checkbox type interface?
So Notch = Satan?
you are dumb he's not saying notch = satan, he's saying notch =/= god

In my theory, Notch would PAY the modders for their hard work not just set up a 'mod donations' button. he wouldnt be stealing the modders' work, but buying it from them so people could use it more frequently in the game. win win.
I bought Minecraft primarily for all the gamemodes he was going to add like zombie survival. What happened to that? There's no mention of adding new gamemodes to minecraft, and I doubt he's going to make and debug the 5 or so gamemodes he mentioned ages ago by December
I don't think Minecraft needs those gamemodes by default. It does however, need a good modding API so the community can go berserk with their own content and gamemodes. Luckily, a modding API seems to be next on Mojang's list.
Unfortunately it seems bugfixes aren't even on Mojang's todo list.
Unfortunately it seems bugfixes aren't even on Mojang's todo list.
Actually: http://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/problems/common Jeb seems to be tackling the more technical problems nowadays. He seems to be a bit better at it than Notch.
AND OH YOU MEAN LIKE YOU JUST REALIZED CARD GAMES AND FOOTBALL SIMULATORS ARENT SUCH A GOOD IDEA AND WILL MOST LIKELY ANNOUNCE YOU'VE "RECONSIDERED" THEM AFTER YOU "RELEASE" MINECRAFT. RAIN AND SNOW HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME SINCE INDEV, HE'S NOT WORKING, HE'S LYING TO YOU.
I don't mind ranting but these two things are bothering me because you're misinformed to shit. Notch said like 10+ times that Scrolls will be worked on by JahKob, while Notch stays working on minecraft. The football simulator is they'rs idea and possibly next game. As for the weather? Rain was a toggle by pressing F5 in indev. Which did fuck-all and didn't even make sound. You could enable and disable it at will while only thing it did was ruin your FPS. Snow was a seperate thing. It had chance of appearing only in infdev and when you generate the world it either sets the whole world having snow or no snow at all. While Snow might be lazy work in the weather update, it's limited only inside snow biomes and it's a thing everyone waited for ever since he disabled the snow world thing. As for rain? He said a few times that it waters plants, gets wolves wet, and it also MIGHT fill small holes with water. Btw, Notch didn't work on wolves. jeb_ did, he also worked on beds. Notch is adding Achievements, stats and Weather in this update. (Also wolves weren't even a mod until they got announced, where people started requesting the modders to make wolves before jeb_ does, and the mods that had wolves sucked badly.)
They need to add way more content and random quests or something.

Are there/were there any perks of purchasing in alpha/beta stages?
Haha, wow. The same day as Skyrim? Looks like someone is trying to hurt the release of a game. Team Fortress 2 did it to Fortress Forever. And Modern Warfare 2 did it to Bad Company 2. And if Sykrim is going to be a casualty because of Minecraft, I'm going to be butthurt.

I'd understand if he announced a BIG thing that was awesome & added so much to the game and just went "Meh... maybe later", but this is 1 little line of code to reset a spawn. It's not worth getting mad about. I don't see you helping the progress of the game at all anyhow.

Saying "it's in beta, stop complaining" is just as stupid and unhelpful as saying "minecraft sucks and notch is a smelly norwegian". In both cases you are being ignorant and ignoring the real discussion. There are some game-affecting bugs that get REALLY annoying. For example, increasing the draw distance makes the game exponentially more likely to crash. Players sometimes become invisible in multiplayer and have to rejoin to fix it. There's probably a handful more (i think they are all documented in the wiki). You get my point though. Minecraft has a LOT of bugs. Rather than shrug them off and add more features, Notch should fix them. By adding new features he only obfuscates the current bugs and makes it harder for himself.
I never paid for minecraft. :v: And I've got an alpha account.
minecraft is gonna lose a lot of steam by the time it releases, these type of games (imagination, sandbox) only appeal for so long, look at garrys mod, it died out shortly after it was released on steam. minecraft had a good run though.
Why are people still releasing mods for Garry's mod? Because it's not dead. Look at the server list for gmod, it's 10x that of any hl2 mod out there, so it's not dead.
They need to add way more content and random quests or something.
That's why he's going to add adventure mode dude. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline]
Minecraft: Broken Steel
Use a better DLC: Minecraft: Adventure mode. <=== yes this is actually planned!
