The whole anime thing is mystifying to me. Why not just focus on the game?
It's the money making Capcom blood in Infaune.
Man what a joke.
What happened with Tim Schafer and Mr. Inafune is just profoundly depressing. Everyone wanted to believe that they were cool dudes screwed over by corporate but they turned out to be these lying jerks who were either terrible at managing a company on their own or in Kamiya's words, "a businessman." please don't happen with kojima
To be fair, we've always known Kojima is fucking crazy, but that is why we love him so much. Crazy is what makes him so good.
And now, because of that image and the idea of Megaman Legends, I'm writing a short story. God fucking dammit.
You gonna post it? Sounds interesting.
You gonna post it? Sounds interesting.
Sure, I could when I've done the first revision.
Alright sounds cool, thanks. Where would you post it when you're done?
Uhhh, well I guess it gives me an excuse to make that writing corner megathread in GD. But we're getting derailed.
Sorry man. Anyway, as pessimistic I am about all this, I hope his stuff does well and MightyNo.9 is success. Him having most of the original team gives me some hope.
Did anything come of this?
Last update on it was in January this year, they also had a 5 month gap of no updates in the past. There is a tendency for small development groups to have no major updates on their site for long periods of time(had one go 1 year with no updates then updated out of the blue).
The whole anime thing is mystifying to me. Why not just focus on the game?
i'm more interested in it than I am with the game tbh
I think you messed up your title. It is a spiritual successor to Legends, not Battle Network.
Now I'm sad
I don't trust Inafune, MN9 was a mighty blunder and I really don't want to see what he's gonna mess up with "It's Not Megaman Legends." [sp]i'm glad that he's not touching battle network[/sp]
*snip woops, didn't see it before*
God fucking damn it OP, I totally wanted another type of game like Battle Network, really enjoyed the battle system. Now that hope has been crushed.
this is kind of like an extreme example of the Shantae situation. i mean really, MN9 hasn't even came out yet and they're still planning on releasing an animated series...and they have a different game starting funding with animation too? i mean at least in Shantae's case, the only thing that seemed obvious would be the ending of Pirate's Curse would be that [sp]She'd get her powers back since[/sp] the sequel is called Half-Genie Hero... Feels kind of gougy considering the whole Mega Man situation in general, i mean sure it does seem jerkish of Capcom to cancel 5 or so MM projects, but Keiji Inafune was the artist. think most of the outcry was about Legends 3 rather than Universe/Online, that Mobile game with reused Powered Up assets was just a lightning rod, kind of like how Final Fantasy: All the Bravest was. MN9 will have to be really good for it to shake off the vocal hype to be acknowledged by people outside the scene. Now if it was something like Kojima, i could see people going up to projects he'd make. there's both the MGS and Silent Hills fans plus people inside the gaming community, but who are not fans of MGS. [sp]also, personally. i always thought Mega Man's stagnant situation became obvious the moment when they made ZX and ZX advent. their practices of trying to sell Star Force 2/3 card codes to be a scummy tactic. to the extent that 2's cards were removed and replaced with Zenny in the EU version. and the 3rd game never came here, think codes were dummied out in 3 in the US iirc. think it was obvious when Shooting Star Rockman came out. rather than picking a popular EXE title like 2 or 3, or a proper crossover. they just port battle network 1 with superficial changes like a map, running, a few new boss fights and nerfs to some Navi chip codes[/sp]
Fucking Jesus the IP already has all this established shit and it hasn't even had an entry released. I still expect MN9 will be a great game but damn talk about putting the carriage before the horse.
