Because that's how Nofap tends to lean. It's not inhabited by people with actual addictions more so by people who think they're somehow superior for not jacking it. couldn't it be as simple as pinching the large vein where the blood is exiting the donger (that huge one on top at its base I think?) and essentially dam the blood into it, forcing enough blood to pool and cause it to erectify
Reminds me of the time a NASA astronaut came to talk to our freshmen and sophomore year classes one day, and when they were taking questions one sophomore straight up asked him "have you done sexual intercourse in space?"
A lot of people laughed at that, but the principle was furious and said they had embarrased the astronaut and/or the person who invited him into never having him come back, and told us all the senior year trip for both of our classes were cancelled. Now I don't know if it was because of that, school funds, or a hell of practicalities due to the trips (appearently altenrating between New York and Disneyworld) being restricted to Friday through Sunday, but we did actually not end up having a senior trip. A shame, no one-upping going to Washington DC in 8th grade.

That last bit is me injecting my own philosophy into the discussion. I feel like people go out of the way to create or find moral arguments in favor of things they find more pleasurable - example, masturbation, using AdBlock, pirating instead of paying for music, donating nothing to charity, etcetera, eventually sometimes deluding themselves into believing it's definitely for the best overall.
Excessive water and excessive masturbation are definitely bad, and it is true that that in itself doesn't mean either is inherently bad, but it doesn't rule it out either. It's a question worth investigating.
And it's a dick move (pun intended) to criticize people who have made the decision not to. Suppose they have addictive personalities, and [I]can't[/I] masturbate in moderation? Consider instead alcoholism. There's a threshold at which one can be addicted to alcohol above which you ought to help them become sober entirely, rather than only a moderate drinker.
