Even though the DS3 DLC affected pretty much nothing at all? You don't need it to beat the game, you're not missing out on story content, and you're not blatantly restricted from content that was cut from the main game. If you're complaining abut "being tempted into buying microtransaction shit" then you have more pressing issues than being upset by DLC. [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] Out of all of the dumbass reasons ever, you chose not to buy the next iteration in one of your favorite game just because of optional microtransactions.
Well, of course, the cover system and co-op made it sound like shit as well, but look at this The full list of launch DLC lies below. Bot Capacity Upgrade - $4.99 Bot Personality Pack - $4.99 First Contact Pack - Free Marauder Pack - $4.99 Sharpshooter Pack - $4.99 Tundra Recon Pack - $4.99 Witness the Truth Pack - $4.99 Bot Accelerator - $4.99 Epic Weapon & Resource Pack - $2.99 Online Pass - $9.99 Ultra Weapon & Resource Pack - $1.99 Resource Pack - $0.99 IMHO literally all of that sounds like it should just be in the game as secret unlockables. Seriously, 10$ dollars for online pass? On day one DLC? If that isn't being blatently restricted I don't know what is. Sure, itsonline, and it doesn't effect singleplayer, but I shouldn't have to pay money to unlock the full game. AKA I have to pay 70$ just to play online and unlock the full game. [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] and, it wasn't one of my favorite games, I loved it, but not that much. DS2 felt like a good ending for me.

Besides the reskin weapon/suit stuff (much like DS2, you find these suits and weapons without paying a goddamn dime), most of the DLC you have posted is optional "I am a lazy dork please give me that now" crap that has not been cut from the game and are not required in the slightest to complete the game. You don't need it to experience the game. I don't see why you italicized "Online Pass," either. You get an online pass if you buy the goddamn game. I doubt you've bothered to look up any gameplay of Dead Space 3, because the cover system doesn't turn it into "Gears of War" or some shit. In fact, I've played the game for roughly 10 hours now and have only ducked behind cover to hide from enemies for a total of half an hour. It doesn't glue you to walls, and you don't find yourself accidentally dying because Isaac wants to hump a chest-high wall. Co-op does NOTHING to change the flow of the story, the tense action, the horror, or anything. Literally the only thing you miss out on is having your friend play with you. You only miss out on one or two optional co-op side missions. If you're going to find a reason to hate a game, you should at least do some research (aside from citing serveral copy-cat articles that stem from the putrid gaming journalism shitstain known as Kotaku) and think. "Hm. How does this DLC affect me? Am I missing out on any important story bits that I have to pay for? Will this make the game not fun? Do I really need to care about this stupid shit?" Adam Sessler has a spot-on opinion about this ordeal 5:00 in.
DLC is annoying cause I know it's almost always shit but I still feel like I'm not getting the whole game if I don't buy it, so it's lose lose
DLC is annoying cause I know it's almost always shit but I still feel like I'm not getting the whole game if I don't buy it, so it's lose lose
If you read above, Kevin said that even if you don't buy the DLC, you're still getting the whole story, and the whole game.
DLC is annoying cause I know it's almost always shit but I still feel like I'm not getting the whole game if I don't buy it, so it's lose lose
Really, I think DLC should be divided into a few categories. Huge DLC - Stuff like old Battlefield 2 expansions, Morrowind and Oblivion expansions Big DLC- Extra story content for games like Mass Effect 2/3, Skyrim expansions, Medium DLC - Stuff like Battlefield 3's map packs that several maps and maybe a handful of guns Small DLC - "Theme packs" like the stuff that Magicka has with a character, a few skins, maybe a single map or fight arena Micro DLC - Small transactions that net you a single gun like Just Cause 2, reskin packs like Space Marine, Sanctum's odds and ends, resources for Dead Space 3, etc. Shit's really general, but not all DLC is the same. You aren't always missing out on something when a game has DLC, you know. With that logic, TF2 is possibly the most incomplete game in existence.
On a side thing, I am going to put my $20 next week and get the Season Pass, and I'll let everyone know whether or the season pass was worth it or not. [sub]Probably is gonna be worth it.[/sub]

It's not even being discounted right now. Not only do you not know what the base game is going to be like, you're prematurely putting twenty dollars down on something that has little to no information.

[sp]Fun Fact, I've been reading every single detail on this game ever since I first heard saw the 2010 debut trailer.[/sp] [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] also don't get me wrong Milk, I understand your point and agree with it. But in my personal case, I'm still getting this, not for the hell of it, and not because it should go with the game. But because of how good this game is going to be. Other then special cases like Bioshock Infinite, it's not like I would pre order any up coming games just because. Mostly because I'd be wasting money, and I'm lucky to have even $40 to spend on one game. Most games I get are well after their release date, and always during a big steam sale.

In my case, Guild Wars 2, Max Payne 3, and Torchlight 2.
i don't know why games think it's impossible to update your game with content you don't have to fucking pay for it
Well what could I say that describes "I'm so excited for this game that I want to pre order, but not exactly saying it IS going to be good"?

If Dark Souls allowed you to speed things up, that would ruin the experience. The journey matters in every single good game, and if you have an element in a game where speeding it up doesn't change the experience, it's a bad game concept, or just tedious and unnecessary (and therefore a bad game concept).
