It is a well understood fact that chocolate has significant health benefits. MILK chocolate has virtually none, but dark chocolate is linked to a number of health benefits. My guess is, given that she was born in the 1800's that she eats dark chocolate, not milk chocolate.
If you rub chocolate on your skin you can live forever
Come on you lazy Mary, start rubbing me with that chocolate.
Dark chocolate tastes so much better anyway, so that's a plus.
man your taste buds must be hardcore, dark chocolate is the bitterest and the hardest to eat for me ...though I know it's one of the healthiest variants
Holy shit..I can only hope I manage to live to be 50 and i'm only 25.
man your taste buds must be hardcore, dark chocolate is the bitterest and the hardest to eat for me ...though I know it's one of the healthiest variants
Milk chocolate is too sweet and gives me wicked sore throats (doubly so for White Chocolate). Dark Chocolate on the other hand does not give me sore throats and tastes good.
I don't want to be that old unless I'm all there, mentally and at least somewhat physically. It would also be terrible outliving everyone you love
Holy shit..I can only hope I manage to live to be 50 and i'm only 25.
..... why
Think of all the changes she's seen in her life
I'd say it's been mostly 4 walls, ceiling, floor and a bed for the last 50 years or so.
I wonder how much/clearly she remembers from the past.
Her being born is actually closer to Napoleon ruling Europe than right now. Jfc
Wow, she's the original 90's kid. The 1890's kid.
people who live to around that age should seriously think about sitting down with someone and recording their life it would be interesting to compile the memories of those who have lived through one century
Wow, she's the original 90's kid. The 1890's kid.
I now want to open up a history book and find out that every other century ended at xx89 :v:
I think this is one Mexican we can say for sure is an alien
Think of all the changes she's seen in her life
ya when she was born mexico didn't have running water in most places, today they....still don't [editline]31st August 2014[/editline] wonder how she feels about her country's progress when matched up against the growth of the U.S. which was not that much more advanced when she was born
Wow, she's the original 90's kid. The 1890's kid.
repost this if you remember these.
Someone should make a film of her life called 127 Years It will be like 127 Hours but less depressing
This article is gonna cause so many people to buy milk chocolate and not real chocolate.
I seem to remember the oldest person in the world being some guy who was like 116, so this caught me by surprise.
Very cool if it ends up being confirmed. So far Jeanne Calment is the oldest confirmed human. There's a documentary and everything on her, and she was 122. If this woman is turning 127 then she would technically already be the oldest, unless it was never actually confirmed.

Calment ascribed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance for her age to a diet rich in olive oil (which she also rubbed onto her skin), as well as a diet of port wine, and ate nearly one kilogram (2.2 lb) of chocolate every week. Calment reportedly remained mentally intact until her very end
Hmmm...
She's just trying to troll the aging populace so that they eat extremely unhealthy as to keep her title longer
..... why
He doesn't eat chocolate
This can be mostly atributted to not having any children.
This can be mostly atributted to not having any children.
She had 5 children and outlived them all.
When she was born the life expectancy in Mexico was 27 years.
now it's even shorter, only in mexico!
Quite an achievement, must of been decent chocolate [editline]1st September 2014[/editline]
This can be mostly atributted to not having any children.
This is a good example of bad reading
It'd be so fun to live to that age and fuck with young people by telling them to only eat watermelons.
Thanks for the tips, mexican lady, can't wait to browse Facepunch in 107 years! [editline]31st August 2014[/editline] But seriously, imagine outliving your children that died by old age.
I thought there was no such thing as dying of old age, but rather that one or more of your vital organs failed to function properly.
