holy shit that hairdresser woman got wrecked lmao
He spoke about making it illegal to drop coverage when you get diagnosed and having insurance stay with you through job changes. He also agrees with having a global drug marketplace and decreasing Fda regulation on getting drugs to market. For example, he proposed giving the FDA 30 days to approve or deny drugs that have already been approved by our major and comparable allies. There's no reason for the FDA to do a full investigation when other countries have already done one.
What about people who need insurance and don't currently have it? Making it illegal for insurance to drop you when you get sick is nice and all (because otherwise, what's the fucking point of insurance?), but there's a serious issue with insurance companies being allowed to refuse to offer coverage to anybody with pre-existing conditions -- especially when the conditions they refuse to cover are so goddamn broad and vague. Did you know that seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist, for any reason, is grounds for insurance to refuse full coverage to you? Hell, 11% of the American population is on anti-depressants alone. There's 35,000,000 people right there who could no longer get comprehensive health coverage if their current plans lapsed for any reason.
Maybe, but at the same time there is no right for food and shelter in the constitution and the human need for those two have been constant forever.
Depends on how you read the 9th amendment
holy shit that hairdresser woman got wrecked lmao
I was kind of bothered that she said she was a "small business", yet she owned five Fantastic Sams franchises? That doesn't seem like a small business to me but hey I could be wrong.

Health insurance should flow from the corporation in which the franchisee is a part of, not out of the franchisees pocket...

I think Bernie should've remarked more on that to be honest.
I love how Ted Cruz gave the same bullshit fucking "They can't drop you" answer to a completely fucking different question numerous times. It was completely transparent. They weren't asking about their insurance being dropped, asshole.
Bernie was relentless, I almost felt embarassed for her.
I love when he's like that. He's brutally honest.
He basically just said a bunch of times that if we get government out of healthcare and allow competition over state lines that everybody will have lots of options and will be able to find a plan they can afford.
Nobody should have to gamble with their health. I feel like the idea of competition fighting for profit in healthcare is wrong. Competition makes sense for things that aren't a necessity. Competition with automakers is good. You don't need to go out and buy a new car. Competition with healthcare is bad. You need your insulin to live.
I've only watched a portion of it so far but my god it amazes me how civilized they are. As much as I despise Cruz' stance on laissez-faire healthcare in our modern society he has my respect for trying to have a civil debate with his opposition and not resort to name calling.
I'm convinced if it were Bernie vs Cruz, there wouldn't be as much division as there is now in America.

There is nothing on the line for this debate unlike a real election.
Necro-bump: Ted Cruz did and interview today with Steven Crowder in which he discussed the debate. I'm warning you: it is a highly obnoxious conservative comedy show, but it's interesting to get his point of view directly like this. Cruz's part starts at 54:32. "turn down for what" the fuck is this. conservatives really can't do humour can they.
