Was the "real" Jesus cremated then or?
You mean crucified? Yes. It was, after all, a common form of public execution back then.
Some Atheists celebrate Christmas.
Makes perfect sense, they don't mean to be religious but still love the heart of it.
It's called CHRISTmas in english, in latvian it's called Winter event/holiday. Has nothing to do with religion.

It never really did, it was just claimed by Christianity pretty early on to help Pagans convert easier. Pagans celebrated Christmas as the Winter Solstice.

Never knew that. Makes sense now.

Who're you calling a hypocrite?
my psych prof told me this on monday. what's funny is that catholics are at the bottom of the list and yet they're the ones who usually complains about other religions.
You can still be an atheist and no nothing about science and whathaveyou. This really isn't surprising, but doesn't make atheism any less of a better choice (faulty appeal to majority much?).
"Muslim" is not a religion.
If your going to follow a religion, you better do some real research first before acting blindly stupid.
Ok, I'm a atheist in it's purest definition.
My score: 14/15 (The question about the Jewish sabbath was poorly worded as it begins sundown friday night WHICH I KNEW, so I gave myself a point back).
The only one I missed was. "Which of the following best describes the Catholic teaching about the bread and wine used for Communion?"
Really, they believe it ACTUALLY becomes the body and blood? That's kinda fucked up.
fixed your post for you
Explain.
Atheist, raised agnostic.
87% 13/15 I missed the ones about Job and Catholic sacrament.
I'll Copy my rant from else where.
I have read the Bible twice and the Quran once just to back myself up.
If you want to be an atheist i think its best to first learn the faiths of others to understand more then your own perspective.
Luckily for me I was raised with both of my parents being atheists and allowing me to find religion and what not on my own.
A blank slate so to speak.
In rough terms this is how i see the world and I feel it is pretty much accurate.

"You are just a series of chemical and bio-electrical reactions.
Don't think your something "special" haha.
We as humans can not grasp the true idea of how small and insignificant we are in this universe. And by even trying to rationalize that we are run by a supreme being just shows how inferior we are as a species.
We are a blip in time and space, yet everyone feels like their owed something for their existence.
We have no purpose but that to replicate, like a virus, because that is what we are. We duplicate and consume in the basic sense of the words.
You are a grouping of atoms moving through time and space without a cause, like every other planet that rotates around the sun, and through out the vastness nothingness.
The idea of an afterlife and god are mear concepts we as humans created to steady our restless minds about death. Its a "feel good drug".
When you die it will be just as before you arrived.
Nothing."

We as humans are afraid to grasp the concept of death. So as seen time and time again with everything we learn to cope and adapt to our surroundings based off of our pre conceived world. Humanity has blinded itself with the idea of good things happening when they die.
Of things larger then themselves ruling their lives to cope and accept death, loss, and sadness.
Our brain has proven it sub consciously creates alternative motives to get to a state of equilibrium.
Heaven being clouds where good people go after God has judged you and Hell being a place for sinners and Your spirit moving to another form are ways for the mind to put itself to ease about the vast dark idea of nothing. You are as big a you perceive yourself to be.
This earth has been here for millions of years. There are billions of planets and stars.
We are in a cycle of repeating energy reactions.
By thinking you are part of a plan or that something is controlling your life or judging you is your brain adapting to calm it's restless water filled energy moving self.
We are but atoms. Creating, destroying, loving, and fearful.
Religion helps us let go as a society, helps us cope.
When we do cope with the true reality...
Only then can we truly be free and only then will we advance.

Why don't you start by coping with the true reality of grammar. I honestly can't even understand what the fuck you're saying.

Coping with nothing sucks, to put it mildly.
Think about that, once you remove the brain, your perception of reality, not only is there nothing, there never was anything. The only true afterlife would be a limited hivemind. Without that you will die, and death is the denial of not only life, but everything that is, was, or ever will be.
Try to imagine that. You can't. People won't accept that. People can't accept that. That is why we keep extending our lives. We HAVE to prolong the inevitable, to hold on to a precious reality that will, ultimately, be absolutely destroyed. That's why a man will go into crippling debt for a cancer drug that may or may not give him another three months. This is the basest form of what makes us human.
Because people can't accept this, it is why we still have violent crime. Every useless death should be a horrible tragedy, but when a man violently rapes and murders a woman in the bad side of town, no one bats an eye. We will never get past this, not unless we can become immortal, and odds are that will never happen.

However, that shouldn't stop us from living good lives. Don't think that.

If you really can't understand that you should seriously go back to school son. That's quite sad.

I haven't reached a conclusion on whether I believe in a god. However, I strongly agree with the Atheist point that instead of working your life trying to reach heaven, man should unite and make earth like a paradise.

Have you ever read a news / sports article online?
Seriously kids, get out more. Read some books and newspapers.
A bunch of my friends were having a religious debate on Facebook (derp). One of my Jesus-addicted friends was pretty much getting factually beat down by my Atheist history buff friend. Eventually the Christian just gave up because he knew more about her own religion than she did.

There are no "points" in atheism, only the lack of belief in a god.

I got 13/15. How about you?
Oddly enough, I went to a Lutheran school for K-8th. I emerged an atheist. My school actually prompted us to learn about other religions. I simply found out in 7th grade that all the 3 major religions all tie back to one little fable.
14/15
Only one I didn't know was the last one, never heard of it.

Engrish please.
Few people are raised agnostic or atheist, so many people have a background in religion or have researched different faiths, Smith said. Agnostics believe they cannot prove the existence of a supreme being, while atheists do not believe one exists.
me and most of my friends were raised atheist so I don't think that applies to my country (the netherlands) anymore.
50% of my country is non religious. (source wikipedia).
That gives us a higher non religious percentage then America.

Atheism FTW!!!
Reading the Bible, Qur'an , and Torah are what made me hate religion.
True fact: anyone who believes in such nonsense is an idiot.
