you are so stupid
I'm sorry... I'll try harder next time... Please don't beat me again!
This made no sense whatsoever. :colbert:
People who have beliefs don't solely get influenced by what they read in books. Its not the most complicated sentence to understand in this thread.
People who have beliefs don't solely get influenced by what they read in books. Its not the most complicated sentence to understand in this thread.
The books are the core foundation of the religions. If you don't believe the book you don't believe the faith. By claiming you are say a Christian and then saying you don't believe in the bible is a pretty huge contradiction. Also
Right, I think it is a case of misunderstanding. Beliefs about life, don't have to be about a book. Religious or not. I have respect for all religious texts, but I have been brought up with one faith which I have stuck with as I have seen more a metaphorical sense of it rather than just instructions about existance and beliefs.
Nobody cares about religion.
Explain.
basically, it's pretty much stupid to just call yourself an agnostic. I mean, well done, you're saying you don't know, noone knows and anyone who considers themself gnostic is either a liar or deluded. Agnostic/Gnostic go alongside atheism/theism IE: Agnostic atheist: don't know for sure if there's a god but don't believe agnostic theist: don't know for sure if there's a god but do believe gnostic atheist: there is literally no god and I have definite evidence and it's a fact gnostic theist: God/s do exist and I know this for an irrefutable fact. saying you're agnostic is just common sense.
They have learned you stupid must unthink thoughtcrime doubleplusungood
Oh, sorry. I misunderstood you the first time.
its easier for them cause all they have to do is tick "no" on the survery.
These questions are a bit weird. "What is the main religion of Pakistan?" you might as well ask a black man which country has the least white people in it. [editline]11:35PM[/editline] I got 15/15, though I guessed the last one because I'm not American.
A bunch of my friends were having a religious debate on Facebook (derp). One of my Jesus-addicted friends was pretty much getting factually beat down by my Atheist history buff friend. Eventually the Christian just gave up because he knew more about her own religion than she did.
That happened to me a few weeks ago. My friend's girlfriend said that because I was an atheist I might as well be a murderer.
My friend's girlfriend said that because I was an atheist I might as well be a murderer.
Fuck, is that what I've been doing wrong this whole time? Guess I better go grab my axe...
Fuck, is that what I've been doing wrong this whole time? Guess I better go grab my axe...
Yep, I asked her why she was arguing with me when she could be spending her time doing what any good Christian should do. Stoning Adulterers.
Yep, I asked her why she was arguing with me when she could be spending her time doing what any good Christian should do. Stoning Adulterers.
No time for a good response, too busy axing people questions.
Of course, to hate/disbelieve in a certain prospect, you must understand it first. Unlike the blind idiots that follow religions.
So you're not allowed to pray in schools in America?
You are allowed to pray, if you wish. We have an exchange student from Kuwait who is a devout Muslim. He prays during lunch, with his rug, facing Mecca. However, say, I can't go to lunch or an assembly or something and be forced to pray. As long as whatever religious practices you have are private (i can't preach during lunch to a bunch of people, for example) it's fine.
Well, you have to know your enemy...?
I got 14/15 on the quiz
Nobody cares about religion.
Yep, because we don't exist. It all makes sense now. :smug:
14/15, didn't get the jewish sabbath. How can people get even half of those wrong, they're so obvious, especially in the context of the other answers.
This just in: The Sky is Blue
This just in: The Sky is Blue
It's not actually blue, you just see it blue due to light refractions in the atmosphere and all that shit. :science:
You're full of yourself. You're assuming that your opinions make you superior.
To be agnostic or athiest, you really have to study religion, and this is why
BTW, Agnostics can be Atheists or Theists. Agnostic doesn't mean you don't know, if you DON'T KNOW, then you're an atheist. An Agnostic is someone who says that God can not be proven. You can be an Agnostic Theist, AKA God can't be proven but I believe in Him anyway. Or an Agnostic Atheist, AKA God can't be proven so I don't believe in him. At least I think that's how it goes, correct me if I'm wrong.
Atheist means lack of belief, they are sure there is no god. Gnostic atheists believe it to be likely there is a god but it will never be known, agnostic atheists acknowledge there could be a god but that it is very unlikely.
Atheist means lack of belief, they are sure there is no god.
Atheism is a lack of a belief, but atheists are NOT sure that there is no God. I read up Ironchariots about Gnosticism and Agnosticism and it says: 1. Agnostic atheist does not believe any god exists, but doesn't claim to know that no god exists 2. Gnostic atheist believes that no god exists and claims to know that this belief is true 3. Agnostic theist believes a god exists, but doesn't claim to know that this belief is true 4. Gnostic theist believes a god exists and claims to know that this belief is true So Agnosticism is basically "I don't claim to know that my belief is true." So doesn't that mean that when you say you're an agnostic, you also have to say if you're an agnostic atheist or theist? Yep,
the terms atheist and agnostic are not mutually exclusive.
and
This definition is not to be taken as an alternative to atheism. Atheism and theism deal with belief, while agnosticism and gnosticism deal with the basis for such belief
There are also "strong atheists" who are 100% sure that there is no god, and anti theists who want all religious belief eviscerated from existence.
There are also "strong atheists" who are 100% sure that there is no god, and anti theists who want all religious belief eviscerated from existence.
I know that, but you said atheists know there is no god. Also, a Gnostic Atheist is what you would say a "strong atheist" is.
