Are you against modularity?
"it's not my browser so it's dated"
lol
That isn't even what he was arguing?
Are you genuinely retarded or something? You seem to do this in every thread someone brings up an opinion you don't like. Oversimplifying their opinion to such a degree that any opinion can be made to look bad is just fucking laughable. Stop.
And he is right, if the browser isn't extensible in any decent manner, it's not going to attract power users and Firefox/ Chrome users.

i'm sorry but this is a stupid question
you realize that if you're intricate with IE you can customize it to do whatever you want right
Show me how to install an add blocker in IE in 1-2 minutes that isn't a system wide tool.
I can do that with chrome or firefox, and configure custom filters with hotkeys if there is anything in particular I want to remove, and I know regex.

What the fuck?

Can't do this on IE. All you have to do to install an addon is click about 3 times.
you realize that if you're intricate with IE you can customize it to do whatever you want right
I shouldn't have to be "intricate" with a browser to get it to do simple things like addons.
Microsoft knows how terrible IE 6 through to 8 was, 9 and 10 actually run good

They're catching up
So yes, IE does suck.. less

yeah but microsoft's software engineers have stopped twiddling around and it's more or less preference now
yeah but microsoft's software engineers have stopped twiddling around and it's more or less preference now
That's the entire point. It's not.
IE doesn't support extensions in the same way as other browsers. Ergo, to power users it's outright inferior, and will continue to be so until such a time as it does.

no its useful and modular browsers vs. locked up browser.
You get an option when you install your OS or whatever to install either IE, Firefox or Chrome, as I remember. In the EU, anyway.
Just out of curiosity, does Apple have to do that with Safari as well, or is it just Microsoft?

But I actually have legitimate reasons to not use IE.

for most users extensions are completely useless so yeah it is up to preference. addons aren't vital to a good browsing experience so for a lot of people IE is just fine
But I actually have legitimate reasons to not use IE.
then dont
But I actually have legitimate reasons to not use IE.
k. literally noone cares you don't use IE, keep to yourself
What the fuck?
if i didn't want modularity then why would i upgrade my components in my home personal computer or add software components to firefox???
the latest public release of IE isn't broken out of the box, and you can pretty much set any security restrictions you want on it if you're more caring about that
FYI guys, you can get an alternative to adblock for IE
k. literally noone cares you don't use IE, keep to yourself
Obviously you care if you took the short time to screenshot some video, modify it and then upload it. I actually haven't seen any of the IE defenders in this thread use IE which is kind of ironic.
Obviously you care if you took the short time to screenshot some video, modify it and then upload it.
i really don't care I just thought it'd be funny considering you keep posting about how awful IE is
i was just summing up your posts
fair enough
Obviously you care if you took the short time to screenshot some video, modify it and then upload it. I actually haven't seen any of the IE defenders in this thread use IE which is kind of ironic.
why are you argumentative about people who use more than one specific piece of software
I kinda feel bad for the poor guys being hated on :( Although IE is horrible to use.
k. literally noone cares you don't use IE, keep to yourself
This would be a more valid thing to say if he was doing what the guy in the video was, but he's not. There's a line between giving fair criticism and flaming that he clearly hasn't crossed.
why are you argumentative about people who use more than one specific piece of software
I'm not against people who use it, I never said that. What I said was I don't like bits of it thus refuse to use it. Why do you make stuff up to further your argument?
no its useful and modular browsers vs. locked up browser.
And some people are fine with a locked up browser so therefore it is preference.
As I've said before, I could yell at you for using IE6. I can yell at you for using IE7. I can't yell at you for using IE9 because who gives a fuck.
if i didn't want modularity then why would i upgrade my components in my home personal computer or add software components to firefox???
This makes no sense within the context of your previous statements.
we understand you don't want to use it, that's wonderful, but it really is annoying how you keep pushing your opinion on everyone else
i mean, i'm totally for stating your opinion but you are a tad too pushy
I'm not against people who use it, I never said that. What I said was I don't like bits of it thus refuse to use it. Why do you make stuff up to further your argument?
then dont use it
I've never seen an IE logo in the bottom left of a post, it's always chrome firefox, sometimes opera
[editline]x[/editline]
posted with IE just to see what it looks like
[editline]x[/editline]
I remember a while ago Garry posted some statistics about Facepunch, including the percentage of users with each browser. That'd be interesting to see again
