Raspberry Pi GPU twice as powerful as iPhone 4S, beats Tegra 2 chip
Maybe because they got a great bargain deal on said chips?
And because maybe they wanted to keep the pricetag low so you wont cry snot if you ruin it?
Ever though of that??
Then why have such a powerful GPU, they could've saved more.

It's like hooking up a GTX 580 to an i486 (the Pi CPU is less powerful than the 486 but whatever)
In fact, the whole design of the SOC is bizzarely centred around the GPU, the GPU boots the CPU for some reason.

Bad analogy, the point they're trying to make is that they can make their GPU twice as powerful as the one in the Iphone 4S and still keep it down to $25. It's making the point that we pay WAY too much for electronics that are capable of running much faster for probably a lot less money.
ALSO, I know a lot of that money probably goes into the screen and the processor, the point is, is that there are things that can be improved for little to no money.
How does one compile for ARM?
How does one compile for ARM?
you ask the compiler very nicely
[editline]26th January 2012[/editline]
assuming you're sane and using GCC
How does one compile for ARM?
With a ARM compiler.
Why on earth have such a powerful GPU and then shit on it with that armv6 peice of crap CPU.
For 1080p, possibly higher.
How does one compile for ARM?
use gcc
I wonder if this can handle a minecraft server with about 6 players. Might get one and run a linux minecraft server for me and my brother to use. He's overseas.
Minecraft server in a pocket.
I wonder how easily it would be to fit one of these inside an old clamshell DVD player.
h.264 will run easily on any h.264 compliant GPU... nothing special.
I was reading their forums and one of broadcoms engineers ( gert ) claims to get the CPU passed 1Ghz with reduced lifetime.
