I wish this was true, but that declaration has no legal authority in a US court. It has been ruled by court precedent that the UN declaration of human rights basically doesn't apply, and can only serve as supporting evidence and not as an actually legal statute of legal authority in the US. The legal authorities in the US are, at the highest level the US constitution & supreme court set rulings. And those guys in the court have declared that the un declaration has no legal power in the US. It's pretty sad
Wow the US is more of a shithole than I thought.
Wow the US is more of a shithole than I thought.
And nothing is going to be done of it because of the greedy shitheads that have everyone and their mothers in their pocket.
You sound like a butthurt minority. Also I agree with Don't Ask Don't Tell, by being openly gay you're just making a big deal out of it.
Throwing someone out of the military, denying them both the right to serve their country and their pay check, over just mentioning who gives them the warm and fuzzies over is making a big deal of it.
Throwing someone out of the military, denying them both the right to serve their country and their pay check, over just mentioning who gives them the warm and fuzzies over is making a big deal of it.
AND. Since its a dishonorable discharge, no matter what their position is and even if they were in the military for over 20 years. They don't get their pension or anything.
Good to see the world is slowly becoming more acceptive of those who are "Different".
Good to see the world is slowly becoming more acceptive of those who are "Different".
It only took several months for them to remove the damn thing after it was found unconstitutional and a law was signed that disbanded it.
Gays? In MY US Military? *Puts on tooth cap to give appearance of having a unitooth and begins to speak in a deep, dumb, and conservative voice* Eeets an ooouuutraaageee. These gays are INSIDIOUS disease carriers. They are an OUTRAGE against HUMANITY and should be banned from the United States OF AMERICA
What is going on in this post? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline]
I wish this was true, but that declaration has no legal authority in a US court.
Yes it does, the us signed the charter which uses the DoHR, so it's part of US law.
You sound like a butthurt minority. Also I agree with Don't Ask Don't Tell, by being openly gay you're just making a big deal out of it.
Except that's not true at all. There was a Lt. Col who had served 19 some years in the military, had I think a bronze star and many other medals, married a male CIVILIAN and was discharged on the spot. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, gone. That's pretty messed up, no retirement, benefits are lost, all because he's gay? He obviously did his job to the best extent and even got a bronze star. He'd served multiple tours and everything. Now, I understand why he was discharged because of the law, but that's why it needs to go away. Things have changed and that's all there is to it. And the thing is, there are already gays in the military, but now they can at least live their lives a little bit more without being secretive. I know for a fact someone is gay in my shop and noone says a thing about it. Hell I don't see why anyone should care about it unless you are military. I mean really it won't even effect you. Also it's not like being gay in the military means you can just stick your dick in anyones ass and it's all good. There are still rules for sexual harassment and such and they'll have to follow them too.
It's good to see were one step closer to a better country.
It seems like people don't understand that the deeper intent of this is probably to prevent people from avoiding the draft by claiming that they're gay when the draft comes. Historically, decreasing economic growth usually follows by a war draft, particularly in the US in order to get those GDP numbers going.
US will likely never have an active draft again because it would be political suicide in any situation
What is going on in this post?
satire
By openly being a retard you're making a big deal out of it. If you truly mean what you said, then you are no longer allowed to talk about any attraction to women/their body parts, because you're just making a big deal out of your heterosexuality. If you don't agree with that you're a bigoted little shit and should lose your right to voice your goddamn opinion
damn, you got me.
I thought this got repealed like six months ago?
imo being gay isn't a choice but i doubt that you're born with it either think it results in the way you're raised and your experiences in life
-snip extremely late-
I thought this got repealed like six months ago?
The American government system works on something similar to Valve time, except instead of taking forever to do something awesome and worth the wait, they are working too more stupidity.
I would cheer, but then again I've never really been a big fan of war or the people that wants to be a part of it.
