You know FP is not a democracy right? The mods have dealt with hordes of angry kids in the past and they'll do it again.
the way some of you guys describe it is way more rediculous and fantastical than the trust though, you say its not a democracy as if you're taking a high ground but then you over glorify the image of mods doing what they want to a degree that just comes off as huge ass kissing. Its p. easy to exist on this forum without kissing up to all the mods, and you can even show objections to their actions without making an ass of yourself and mot get banned. Both sides here look p. dumb I wish craptasket was here ;(
on-topic though, what an awful situation to find yourself in (in reference to the nephew), especially if there weren't any family troubles with your uncle in they past. the emotional mixing pot going on in the dude mustve been nutso
What are you talking about? What do you mean "mods don't last long?" when was the last time a mod got demodded for banning someone that said something off-topic?

I'm under the impression a lot of mods also don't want shit like this posted.
making a harmless reference that people rate funny and don't comment on has always been a thing that's happened on this forum. I know some of y'all wanna seem all refined and above being 'gamers' but think is a gaming forum at heart. It wasn't even remotely derailing the thread and added some humor to an otherwise dire situation, which is something we country use alot more of honestly
I don't know why, it just makes me angry
I could take the time to reformat my argument in a less stupid way, but it's already quoted so there's really no point
The core idea still stands that the community doesn't support it, just fucking quit now because you will eventually anyway.
I get your rationale and agree to a margin, but I strongly advise just taking it down a notch for your accounts sake. Just don't wanna see anyone else banned over something this silly
if fp was a democracy and all mod decisions were done via the people's will this place would be stormfront v2
but that's wrong
if fp was a democracy and all mod decisions were done via the people's will this place would be stormfront v2
I don't see how you would come to this conclusion.
FP is extremely liberal, with perhaps a spat of conservatism here and there.

If the children didn't want to eat their broccoli, should their parents let them? You guys bitch and moan like this is a democracy, but it clearly isn't.
garrysmod is over 10 years old, a lot of people USED to be video game players, but aren't anymore. Just because a lot of us used to play videogames doesn't mean that video game references get to be the lifeblood of this forum.
I think the mods should be allowed to decide what their standard of a "quality post" is. Evidently they decided that a lot of video game references make shitty posts.
On top of that, a lot of the video game references are basically tangentially related. Most of the time, they aren't related at all.

it'd be shit but not in the way you suggest. the forum works because the community provides reactionary feedback to a very stubborn administration team. what this basically ends up meaning that only the shit that REALLY matters to the community that we push for endlessly will be changed, which is a good thing cause changing shit all the time would suck. If garry or the mods change something because the community really fought for it, that's because its genuinely a worthwhile change

Video game references are the only thing that makes me feel alive anymore.
Looks like the link is broken or something so I only have to posted segment to go off of, but that's a hell of a lot of damage to do just with your fist.

If D&D has taught me anything it's that alignments are a two-axis street, just because FP is Liberal doesn't mean it can't be Chaotic Liberal.
Or maybe it's just True Neutral I dunno.

i just can't understand why people get so stuck up over the idea of a single position that genuinely made people laugh. you're speaking with no backing except for your own assumptions as to the overall view of the community, but everything so fat points to the community still really loving videogames (hence all the funnies)
im fine with people acting like they're too mature and refined to recognize videogames are almost always relevant here (given the proper setup or context), as ignorant as that view may be. of course the mods decide the quality standards here, no issues there, but the ass kissing some of you guys do to the mods is honestly just as silly as the ones throwing a fit over a temp ban.

I think sh has multiple personality disorder, that's the only way I xan rationalize the hive mentality alongside the moral flip-flopping every couple of weeks :v:
Another thread locked due to being extremely off topic. Just because something has x number of funny ratings doesn't make it less of a shitpost. This isn't a "personal playground" thing, we all want to improve this section and me and the other mods are working on new rules for this section.
Any further threads put off topic where people complain about bans will find themselves banned too. Someone else's ban has nothing to do with you and it's up for them to appeal in the RC if they think it's unjust. A rules update will be put in the sticky on Monday.
