comes to an english forum and calls other people idiot foreigners hah
Guys, I think he was being sarcastic.
Are you pissed that you bothered to learn Japanese in your parents basement and rarely can use it?
Um I was BORN knowing how to speak nihango! I am the reincarnation of a noble Japanese samurai trapped in the body of an american!
They're also doing it in ENGLISH!? Wow! Do they have no respect for the source material!? Nihango (that means JAPANESE for you dumb bakka-gaijins!) is the most beautiful language, and is the only language such a work of art should ever be heard in!
changing the setting isn't the same as changing the language, you know

well you don't have to be a weeboo in order to respect a movie's importance in culture
should monty python also receive a hollywood remake?

Oh, I love original works, and I more often than not watch foreign films with subtitles, rather than see their American adaptations. Same with the few animes I like. I'd rather go with the subtitles than those god awful voice overs.
augh all of them would be terrible

If there is bait I just have to go along with it.

As long as they keep the cyberpunk/dirtcity feel then I am okay with it.
Let loose the wrinkly children!

Fucking really? I am speechless.
Picture stolen from a great Blog Post about this, pretty much sums up my reaction: http://fatboyroberts.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/requiem-for-neo-tokyo/
1 and 6 are kind of trying to be japanese.
They better change those names in the movie or it could sound very odd.
White people have bigger eyes and more hair and eye colors than Asians, so that makes Anime people, like, white people's white people.

If its not visually impressive it won't do very well.

The Last Airbender was an American animation show to begin with.
I can't imagine the movie will be even remotely like Akira, there's no way they'll keep the last few scenes of that movie because they're so fucked up.
It's gonna fail anyway. Since when has a American remake of an anime(aside from Astro Boy) every did good.

What unbearably cheesy and poorly written excuse for entertainment that was, and the live action one was pretty bad, too.
If it's done with those people, it could single handedly ruin Akira forever, for me.

It was okay, I watched it at special movie night thing. But kids trying to talk like adults in the film annoyed the fuck out of me. And this is based on the first season of Avatar itself. Of course you knew that.
And it acted like a nickeloden film, but it was epic none the less. And the actors were obviously nickeloden stars. But the kid was awesome, that was all.
