Edit: Yup, Ubisoft confirm that it will of course have mouse/keyboard support, as with previous games in the series. But still won’t tell us a release date for the PC version.
Calm down.
why does this even matter?
it's so they can be dramatic and place their hand on their heads and whisper "oh the horror, us pc gamers have been cast aside as mere lepers!"
I don't see how it will be worse than the previous ones with keyboard support. Besides, these types of games sorta do player better with a controller, just use a 360 controller.
the assassins creed games never really required the precision of a mouse so i wouldnt be THAT bummed out if it wasnt supported.
Calm down.
I love the title for this thread.
PC players "need" a controller

creative director Alex Hutchinson that if you want to play the game on PC, you "should" be using a controller.
Kind of a big difference.
I have played all the Assassin's Creed games with a keyboard and a 5 button mouse. My setup is so comfortable, I have all the keys assigned so that I don't have to move my fingers away from their stationary position while playing, with the sole exception of Esc. Makes me wanna make a video of me showing off my settings for when playing AC and send it to Ubi.
I actually got a usb controller for games like this, it takes 3 fucking hours to set it up to actually play games. After I've messed around with xpadder I get ingame and its all awkward and I have to change controller profiles and settings, I'm so much better with a keyboard and mouse.
Once they realize their sluggish sales they'll go probably like this: "OMA GAWD, PIRATES"
Well... that's another game on my "to-pirate" list (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - Craptasket))
You'll want to snip your post.

What's the point of porting it to the PC if the controller is recommended anyway? That would be like porting a game to a console and saying that a keyboard and mouse is recommended. If your going to put it on a system, at least make it work around the native control scheme of the system and have the option of another controller.
Erm no. Never had a problem with Mouse and Keyboard on PC Assassins Creed.
I did, the controls they did for the pc were shit.
With people saying this an april fools joke called "Ubisoft" I was thinking: It would be a hilarious and terribly effective if Valve did some kind of Ubisoft-move as an april fools -joke. Like announcing that Episode 3 will be released for Xbox first and will require Games for Windows Live -account. I would not want to be Gabes email-inbox if they did that.
I like mouse more. I can't get used to steering the camera with the second stick.
I plug mine in and it works with any game that has the gamepad option
Jealous I plugged in mine and everything was a mess Super Meat Boy? Constantly running to the left, buttons and sticks didn't work Saints Row the third? Spinning around in circles, sticks inverted and buttons jumbled. Pain in the ass.
the only issue I had with the keyboard controls is that they changed ONE FUNCTION per game. so you learn the controls for one game then in the next you're shooting heralds instead of bribing them, wtf
