Cruz's 'vote on your conscience' line is gold, there's literally no better way to dismantle Trump in the eyes of conservative Christians than that. It's a huge gamble; if Trump (god/Flying Spaghetti Monster forbid) gets in, it's the end of Cruz's career.

But if Trump loses, and especially if he loses hard, then Cruz has successfully jumped off a sinking ship.

Someone posted it earlier in this thread (or I might have read it somewhere else) but there was another tweet stating that Trumps people had signed off on Cruz's 10 minute speech but he actually talked for 23 minutes. Trumps tweet definitely looks like an attempt to save face.
