[QUOTE=Eeshton;48036664]I feel like all new technology has to go through a point of some silly/impractical looking designs to progress

I think Cav Scouts would have an absolute ball with this. You'd be able to deploy a recon section extremely quickly, and they would be able to get to places they couldn't previously. I can't wait to see where this goes.

It's perfect! Now the soldier will never abandon their vehicle while in combat!
[QUOTE=Orkel;48033094]This is the new engine placement design that has better stability

I'm guessing the blades spin in opposite directions - they negate each other where they overlap, creating a dead-zone where the vehicle is naturally inclined to settle, as opposed to the previous design which had to rely entirely on computer/pilot control for that aspect. If I'm correct, that makes it a lot less inclined to roll and probably able to bank at higher degrees with more stability than the previous model. The previous model basically worked like a hammock, where this one is more like a hammock with 4 points of stability in the corners, which adjust outwards and inwards to account for and prevent rolling.
The big thing concerning me though is the 'Autonomous' bit. These could be nightmares in war, on par with the earliest conceivable mechs in the MGS - Universe. A Hellfire deployment system that can park on a roof top or in a gully, charging on solar power and with fuel in reserve to pop up at a moment's notice, fire and forget before hovering at a low altitude to another altitude to park and wait again.
