Does nobody see the huge error here?
The guy who posted that is a community manager. AKA, forum moderator. He has absolutely nothing to do with the development of the game, nor is he in PR. What he says about the game's expectations should be taken with a grain of salt--if not just as much as any other fan awaiting the game.
Community Managers are public relations employees.
Having played the beta thoroughly with a Barbarian, I definitely feel that it might not be what people remember Diablo2 like.
It's almost like the trailers and the gameplay videos and the beta is just teasing for the moment when Blizzard lets players step into the big, new Diablo3 world with the good old overwhelming amount of Demons coming at you and your party. Which was pretty awesome.

yes please
Ass.
That is all.
They don't really let you do much in the beta, but one thing that stands out is that it just feels good. Compared to, say, Path of Exile which feels kind of static and stiff.
Something about older games graphics just appeal to me way more than current gen graphics. I find Diablo 2 endlessly pleasing to look at (among other games), while I grow tired of the best graphics we have available in a few hours.
Also WoW isn't what is used to be anymore. It used to be fun and fair.
Honestly WoW was never fun, people are just starting to realize it's boring. I tried it for a few months, then played for a while on my friend's account full of 60s (that was the limit back then) - it was shit through and through. The combat just has to be dumbed down too much to account for the massive network load, it's like an activision title taken to the next level.
Diablo 2 came out 12 years ago.
Of course it's not going to live up to expectations.
The only expectation I had for this game was the LAN option.
I'm okay with a reskin of diablo 2
D2 was great
I'm okay with a reskin of diablo 2

I'm ok with Diablo being Diablo. Sorry but after everything they have removed I'm not very excited for D3, and I've played 2000 hours of D2.
What they have been doing is streamlining everything, which is great for the rumoured console release but not really what people hoped.
I think it'd be shameful for Diablo 3 to end up like DNF, A pretty good game that's widely hated by everyone because it wasn't the biggest revolution in gaming people were waiting for for the long development time.

You're stupid.
Why are you acting like you know what you're talking about when you quite obviously never gave the game a fair shot, and are continuing to give opinions on outdated information.

I'm sorry, you can be milked all you want but if the game stays shitty for months - even when you have all the end game content available to you, it just sucks. Note how instead of a valid argument you resort to flaming.
So you have to force yourself to crawl through unfun shit to realize the true fun? He didn't like the game get over it.

DNF wasn't really a "pretty good game". It more like a bad to possibly mediocre game that was way overhyped for 12 years.

The way your forming your opinion would be like playing Oblivion and never leaving the tutorial sewers, it is very stupid.

ps: Before you go off on the "fanboy!11!111" tangent, I'd like to let you know I haven't played WoW in quite some time.

Yeah, if the tutorial sewers in Oblivion were months long and then the game was boring afterwards and it costed me money to continue playing it I would have left :v:

Have you tried it recently or are you still basing your opinions on 5 year old gameplay?
[editline]27th February 2012[/editline]
Because again, that's pretty stupid.

The core gameplay hasn't changed, there's no reason for me to give them more of my money for a product I don't like, it's the gaming equivalent of fast food. The ultimate irony here is you're claiming I'm going to start spelling awful and yelling fanboy, while at the same time you're making spelling errors and calling me stupid repeatedly with basically no argument to go on :v:
Good to see some honesty in the gaming world.
On another note, I don't think it's possible to meet some of the fans expectations

It's been 12 years since Diablo 2, of course it's not possible.
What I've played in the beta so far seems cool though.
Someone doesn't like a game, boohoo deal with it. Do you get paid to defend it?

Not sure where I claimed you were going to make spelling errors, maybe it is your stupidity acting up again. Again, the gameplay from 5 years ago and gameplay today is radically different. I don't know how you can disagree with me when you haven't tried it. Again, stupid.
diablo 2 clone or not, i still trust blizzard to make it good.

Blizzard are a bit like valve and id in the way they make their games. 3DRealms just coasted on the success they had for years and didn't make anything worth playing.
A++ marketing rite dere.
Seriously if it was only Diablo 2 with increased graphics i'd still fucking love it.

Not entirely true.
Not entirely true.
He is PR, but he doesn't develop the game.
He is PR, but he doesn't develop the game.
Exactly, he's PR, I am sure he knows more shit about the game than we do.
