How Singapore Got Hooked on the Internet of Public Shame

I had an anthropology professor who does a lot of work in southeast Asia. He said the whole point of all this authoritarian stuff in Singapore is basically to keep out American and Chinese culture.

That wealth disparity is pretty extreme. Similar to that of what the US has.
Heh sounds exactly like the Singapore I know of.

Eh, this is basically a wildly popular people of wallmart. That's kinda all it is.
Glad to see people are reacting much more negatively to this than that tumblr which did the same thing which was posted a few months ago.

This is the biggest reason why many of the younger citizens here are growing more and more upset with the current government. We're now considered the most expensive city to live in by the EIU and yet we don't even have a minimum wage (the lowest wage I can think of is S$6/hr, which is about US$4.77/hr). The cost of living just keeps increasing and yet nothing is done to balance this out. Many of us are ready to leave the country and work overseas once we graduate from polytechnic/university because the cost of buying a car and a home is just too much.
couple of my friends went to a pyjama-themed party and got put up there ahah stomp is a fucking disgrace to singapore in my opinion. whats worse is that it is backed by the straits times and therefore the government, just an embarrassment as a whole tbh it should be taken down
