i've had a really bad day and hearing the news about this, and seeing some of the reactions people have had to it just made it that much worse. i mean, the kid was 3. Fucking 3 years old.

Can someone be kind enough to supply a source regarding the illegitimacy of the Saudi National in custody?

Talked to one of my friends (a former coach) who was there when the blast happened. I'm glad he's okay. Apparently he has about 300 feet from the finish line.

Ball bearings don't discount foreign involvement, small shrapnel like nails and ball bearings are often added to bombs in Iraq.

This is beginning to sound more like a terrorist dirty bomb. They often use nails, ball bearings, screws and stuff like that to maximize the injuries and casualties. Not only does it create multiple wounds, but it also causes big blood loss and and the possibility of after infections due to the dirty nails and stuff. It's terrible.

Ball bearings make it easier for the FBI to track down how the bomb was made. Hopefully they have some way of finding out where the bearings were machined, then they can go from there. All the ball bearings prove is that the bomb was homemade, and crafted by someone who did some research and knew what they were doing.
