I've been flipping around newstations back and forth for about 5 hours, and have a two quick corrections/updates: CNN never outright suggested a lone wolf. What they did say semi-early on was that the devices were crude, as if by a lone wolf, but the bombing itself was well-planned enough to suggest a group. They always followed up the solitary person comment with that disclaimer, meaning they have no idea. A small group seems possible, though, but it's very unclear right now. Besides, did you see how long CNN was blathering on about Obama's avoidance of the word, "terrorist"? They're just saying things for the sake of saying things. That reddit thread is the best news source by far right now. People were reporting even tiny police scanner comments just seconds after they were made. Also, the 5 devices thing kinda went nowhere, it's now doubted they were bombs. I quit listening for my own sanity about a half hour ago, so maybe something's happened since then? I doubt it though. Anyway, it's been absolutely amazing how many good hearted people are around. Sure, there's a few crappers, like the reporter asking if this was a false flag operation, but it's shocking how many people are being so awesome and helpful.

I'll have to find the source, for that, though. I'm trying to quit listening for my own sanity, about a half hour ago, so maybe something's happened since then? I doubt it though.
In today's world, these news outlets know less than us. Using a bit of Reddit and other large forums like twitter you can get a far better idea of what's happening, especially in cases where thousands and thousands of people have cameras and internet on hand and witness the event. The news is only good for images, and the problem is whether they know jack shit, or know the entire story, they'll talk over the images as if they're playing a game of Clue. Trying to piece it together in their own mind, but aloud, too afraid to let a single SECOND go by without noise. They should stop calling live events news coverage and start calling it Speculation Corner

I'm not sure I'd suggest Twitter, a lot of unfounded rumors were spreading for the short while I was watching, but for the most part, you're right. The TV news only have so much information at one time, and they have to fill up time, catch up with people just tuning in, etc. Good if you're just getting the gist, but terrible if you're following it obsessively. They can't hope to compete with thousands of people around the world updating by the second.

How the fuck would dallas know about this ~_~
How the fuck would dallas know about this ~_~
News wires (AP, AFP, Reuters, etc).
[editline]16th April 2013[/editline] :I
while they bring up a good point where there are bombings daily in 3rd world and war torn countries and it's sad that it happens. Those happen in 3rd world and war torn countries, this is not expected to happen to First World countries such as The U.S so naturally the shock is going to be, well, pants shittingly shocking.
honestly the YT audience is fucked
It's bad enough most probably lost a leg but what's worse is that they'll most likely have hearing disorders such as tinnitus
and PTSD and things associated with these kinds of events
It's bad enough most probably lost a leg but what's worse is that they'll most likely have hearing disorders such as tinnitus
A ringing in the ear is worse than losing a leg or both legs? I would take ringing in the ears any day over losing limbs.
A ringing in the ear is worse than losing a leg or both legs? I would take ringing in the ears any day over losing limbs.
I'd rather lose a leg than have a constant ringing in my ears for the next 60 (Hopefully) Years. You can get a prosthetic leg and get 90% of what you had back. Ringing in the ears will drive you nuts
A ringing in the ear is worse than losing a leg or both legs? I would take ringing in the ears any day over losing limbs.
I've got a friend who has constant ringing in his ear and he says he hasn't been able to get a good night sleep for years. As awful as I imagine not having a leg is, not being able to sleep and just having this constant sound in your ear through every activity you do I think would eventually mentally destroy you. Especially if you don't get good nights sleep.
A ringing in the ear is worse than losing a leg or both legs? I would take ringing in the ears any day over losing limbs.
Tinnitus can really fuck with you though, hearing a constant unavoidable high-pitched sound all the time. It can even drive people to suicide.
I have tinnitus in my left ear, I don't have it incredibly bad though it isn't really noticeable unless I am somewhere somewhat quiet. Although I have moments where it sounds louder.

Ringing in the ears will drive you nuts
I have tinnitus, not sure if tinnitus caused from an explosion would be any louder but I've pretty much come to associate the steady ringing I hear with silence and lack of sound.
I was really surprised that the man in many photos who lost his legs didn't go into shock. I've seen people go into shock from much less.
I was really surprised that the man in many photos who lost his legs didn't go into shock. I've seen people go into shock from much less.
How could you tell he wasn't in shock?
I was really surprised that the man in many photos who lost his legs didn't go into shock. I've seen people go into shock from much less.
A lot of people that are in shock don't even realize it. It reminds me of the article with the soldier who had a knife jabbed into his head, and walked around like nothing happened.
I am usually never ill from seeing gory video or pictures, but that guy with the shredded legs (Jeff) really made me feel just full body physically horrible. I am so glad he made it. His injuries are crazy fucked up.
How could you tell he wasn't in shock?
He had no color and lost so much blood that he must have been in some stage of shock.
He had no color and lost so much blood that he must have been in some stage of shock.
That's what my reasoning is.
