Why is this such a big deal? Jesus Christ an hour after it happened my Facebook and twitter exploded with stuff about this. I mean it's sad but shit it's nothing compared to Newtown or Aurora...
I was really surprised that the man in many photos who lost his legs didn't go into shock. I've seen people go into shock from much less.
You notice he wasn't screaming out in agony? Shock stops that from happening.
How could you tell he wasn't in shock?
Well, from cases I've seen, normally they blanche white, their eyes glaze over and they pass out. Not normal unconsciousness, but a weird, limp state. I'm no doctor, but my little brother broke his femur in four places once, and I had to repeatedly slap his face just to keep him conscious. I've also seen instances with my grandmother going into shock when she broke her hip, and another instance when she shattered her shoulder. Holding his leg like that? He's fairly aware.

You don't go around and rank who had it worse or how one act of violence isn't as bad as the other, that is completely stupid.
I'd rather lose a leg than have a constant ringing in my ears for the next 60 (Hopefully) Years. You can get a prosthetic leg and get 90% of what you had back. Ringing in the ears will drive you nuts
I have Tinnitus in both ears, loud enough I can't hear a clock tick if I'm more than 15 feet away, but I can safely say I'd rather keep my limbs.
There's a cop in Boston saying the bombs had screws, glass and razor blades in them D:
Early... (an early rating would be cool) [editline]/[/editline] To those rating dumb, you should have watched the ticker
Yeah but they should call it fast, early sounds for me like "too soon"

I have had someone with a bone through their leg talking to me answering questions and telling me they are okay and just wanted to leave.
Two threads about a single news item on FP and soon to be three? That's a record...
Two threads about a single news item on FP and soon to be three? That's a record...
Blame the post limits. I doubt Garry could've seen an event of this magnitude though.
There's a cop in Boston saying the bombs had screws, glass and razor blades in them D:
No surprise. If they hadn't then they wouldn't have wounded anybody other than minor hearing problems for being close. Judging from the video, the explosion itself wasn't that big. But lots of pieces of shrapnel like that wrapped around it is going to do all the damage
Iirc, the whole reason the Human body goes into shock is so you don't feel the pain... Same as someone being knocked out from the pain. On another note, when they convict the people who did this (after a trial oc) they should deliver a .45 surprise to the back of the fucker's heads. EDIT: Nope, Winters, You're right. We should "rehabilitate" these people, and give them "help" Bleeding heart bigot.
There's a cop in Boston saying the bombs had screws, glass and razor blades in them D:
So these werent made to just kill people. But cause widspread injurys, pain and general suffering to civilians.
Whoever did this is a coward bastard ! Shame on the asshole who kills and injure so many people. Those joggers and runners only want to run.
So these werent made to just kill people. But cause widspread injurys, pain and general suffering to civilians.
Exactly. But of course, according to the bleeding heart imbeciles of Facepunch the people responsible still deserve to carry on living.
The quick mobilization and coordination of emergency personnel in Boston is beyond impressive, you can really tell this is a scenario they'd prepared for.
Firing new thread (provided this post is the one to lock this one).

That's a totally reasonable and humane response and definitely isn't hypocritical at all. You're disgusting.
