Can't wait for this to be rolled out to Nexus 4 devices.
I dont really like the camera specs. We've been at 8mp for a very long time now. Id say at least a 10 should be standard.
I'd prefer a great sensor over more pixels, it would be nice to have more pixels too but priorities! [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
Oh my god, that UI is boner inducing.
Duarte is really cleaning up over there.
Sorry but that UI and the icons look like ass.
Sorry but that UI and the icons look like ass.
does your ass look like that?
Sorry but that UI and the icons look like ass.
You must have one modern ass.
I don't. Instead of uping numbers like idiots we should get better sensors with less noise.
My phone is 8mp, ive never set it that high and really dont see much of a need to. I set it at 3mp, which is a pretty good blend of being a fairly small file size, while being detailed and fairly big. I used to use an 8mp camera set at 2mp. My phone makes that camera look like a damn potato. Im all for keeping the megapixels low, until the sensors reach their limit and need to be made bigger
software looks sexy, handset design looks like shit
current gen smartphones now have more processing power than my 3 or 4 year old macbook pro thanks apple
MHz doesn't mean power.
Screen recording Now it's easy to create high-quality video of your app, directly from your Android device. Android 4.4 adds support for screen recording and provides a screen recording utility that lets you capture video as you use the device and store it as an MP4 file. It's a great new way to create walkthroughs and tutorials for your app, testing materials, marketing videos, and much more. You can record at any device-supported resolution and bitrate you want, and the output retains the aspect ratio of the display. By default, the utility selects a resolution equal or close to the device's display resolution in the current orientation. When you are done recording, you can share the video directly from your device or pull the MP4 file to your host computer for post-production. If your app plays video or other protected content that you don’t want to be captured by the screen recorder, you can use SurfaceView.setSecure() to mark the content as secure. You can access screen recording through the adb tool included in the Android SDK, using the command adb shell screenrecord. You can also launch it through the DDMS panel in Android Studio.
Could be useful I guess.
$349 -> 349€ How do I money. (No srsly, making the change it's 255€, I'm not paying 100 extra just because)
Anyone who has 512 mb RAM in their smartphones, please report if this statement is correct.
I'll have to wait until it's been ported to my phone.
Why would you need an SD card?
Cheap local storage for abundance of music, videos and photos. Fuck streaming, there's no truly unlimited data plan that's affordable, nor is there 100% coverage. Not to mention, using the cellular radio consumes much more power than reading/writing to a SD-card Google is trying indirectly to get people to use Google Drive, while failing to realize the technical limitations of that. I'd agree on that modern apps often reach the bottleneck of SD-cards, but that's why they belong on the internal storage, The rest can easily be on a SD-card without any performance problems.
That looks lovely. It's a shame that I couldn't update my Droid 4 to the new OS. That's the one major complaint I have with android phones. It kind of sucks having to use the same old OS for 2 years until my contract is up for a new one.
That's also somewhat a Motorola problem as well, I find none of their phones ever get continued support. [sp]This coming from a droid 3 owners who got shafted by a announcement of droid 4 (same phone with 4g added) 2 weeks later[/sp]

Integrated flash storage really needs to up the price to storage ratio if the industry moves away from SD cards.

Guess I found my birthday present, especially considering this is compatible with the 4G band Three are using
Yeah, Google name Android releases after confectionary in an alphabetical order (last one was Jellybean and before that Ice Cream Sandwich and so on). Also ordered.
At first I thought you were being snarky but then I actually looked it up and it was true I didn't know this. Pardon my ignorance.
I wonder how much Nestlé (Kitkat's manufacturer) paid for that as marketing ( I don't really think they paid for it... im just saying )
It wasn't Nestle they asked, it was Hershey
Educate the user instead of limiting them.
$349 -> 349€ How do I money. (No srsly, making the change it's 255€, I'm not paying 100 extra just because)
US prices don't include VAT
Anyone who has 512 mb RAM in their smartphones, please report if this statement is correct.
My HTC Wildfire S has 512MB RAM, it sucks, gonna get the Nexus 5 ASAP.
I'm not very literate on phones here, but since I'm with AT&T now, can I simply pick up the Nexus 5 from the T-Mobile store, stick my AT&T sim in there and just use it? Or do I have to buy the unlocked one from Google Play or something?
My HTC Wildfire S has 512MB RAM, it sucks, gonna get the Nexus 5 ASAP.
My galaxy rush has 612mb Not sure how that even happens.
I'm still enjoying my nexus 4 tbh, just cant wait for kitkat though it looks amazing
Ergh this makes me want to put CM10 on my s4, which I have avoided because you lose all of the better Samsung features.
Got the Nexus 4 around three weeks ago and it didn't disappoint (certainly not if you compared it to my old HTC Wildfire!). Will be enjoying it for a long time, and looking forward to the new Android version!
Won't let me order, keeps erroring :(

I've got my S4 best phone I've ever owned. Android is definitely the way to go they give you more freedom with your device, the SD card slot is one of the best things about it that and the fact that you can actually take out your battery... iphones are communist
I can't even order cause my online banking is down.. great, hope they ain't sold out tomorrow
How can i buy this thing in finland?
