This is the first time our school has closed in almost a decade.

Australia if you don't really want change. Canada if you want to spice stuff up a bit. It's like the good bits of the US and UK combined.
Holy shit it sounds like you guys have it worse than here in the states.

These are our sacred traditions.
First stage of strikes is to just close all the schools.
Second stage of strikes is the point where people start to get grumpy and the police have to bring in their armoured vans.
Third stage of strikes are the best; we form orderly cues for the en masse window smashing.
We'll see an increase in people playing Skyrim from this.
And those who caused it are getting off scot-free.
But in the end the world's economy will crash and everything will be screwed up for decades, for everyone. Oh well, people keep saying the worlds going to hell in a hand basket and are doing nothing to avert it. Yes that was hypocritical, but how is anything short of a billion people attempting to change things going to make people realize how fucked we are if we don't get our shit straight?
what's a squib?

The world economy wouldn't be fucked if all the cunts in control allowed the economic system to be changed so that all of it actually represents real world tangible assets that physically exist.
The economy is used as an excuse to do a lot of stupid shit, its time we fixed it.
Well I enjoyed my day off. We'll probably end up talking to our politics teacher about this since it's quite relevant to the course.
Oh no some lazy cunts don't want to work because they can't be bothered to save 10% a month for 60 years instead of getting someone to do it for them.

A small concealed explosive charge used in the pyrotechnics industry to safely simulate bullets hitting gravel or sand for filming action sequences.

Those poor people. Depending on their condition lives might be in danger!
how dumb can they be?
"people are rioting!"
"well we should probably continue with what we are doing"

The riots and this aren't connected.
Canada's a good place to go to during this massive strike.
And the riots? Just wait.
Good, I hope it spreads overseas because our teachers are treated like trash. Some deserve it but the ones that don't are the ones I feel for.
This strike happened at my uni yet I had an exam at 9 in the morning
Great job UK'ers.
It's illegal for teachers and most public sector employees to strike in the states. When the government slaps shit on them, their only choice is to beg their union to do something, but the unions in the big-labor states are generally corrupted by money and act based on their interest and not those they represent.
The only resistance we saw when the autocrats in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan stamped down their anti-labor, anti-democratic emergency financial managers, extreme public sector cuts, and anti-education policies was the occupation of the capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin, which was unfortunately brought into 'legal and regular political action' by the Democrats and ultimately died from that.

It seems like the whole world is slowly falling apart. I guess you could find some third world country where all you need to worry about is survival.

I can't wait to get out of this shit tip
this also speaks volumes about what I think of the countries I dislike more
Ok good joke. Seriously what do you suggest?
Research into old-school means of self sufficient living; Shelter building, sustaining own food/water supplies, basic first aid and the like.
Find out where the nearest large stretch of uninhabited land resides -- they aren't as uncommon as you would think, it just seems that way because the whole point is that not very many people need to check 'em out.
Go full hermit for 5-10 years.
Come back and check in on us. If everything's still the same, write a book about your experience. If things have gotten worse, return to hermitdom. If you can't find people to go back to, you are now king of everything.

Seems better off than Britian at the moment. Sure our economy isn't as good as yours, but at least our public sector isn't striking. Also, think of the money you'll save on gas!
