Did you even read the article?
Yeah... I know they had permission to shoot it, but it's still fucked up. They could have used a tranquilizer or something.
I know it sounds rude, but in my opinion, it's disgusting.
How come you find that disgusting? Just wonderig=ng.
I know it sounds rude, but in my opinion, it's disgusting.
You're basically going up against the opinion of the majority of FP.
Oh wow, did you see how aggressively that cow was limping away from the officer aiming a gun at it? Totally justified.
What ever happened to lassoing the cattle instead of killing it for no reason? Permission or not, it's a waste of life.
Unjustified. Just because they have pistols doesn't mean they have to empty a clip into the thing. They should've called a vet and put it to sleep before killing it. I don't understand while the police doesn't have means of capturing farm animals.
I saw the title of this and I immedietley thought of this. jump to 2:13 in.
Cows are evil when they have calf's, A woman died while walking her dog not long ago because she walked in a field with cows and their young.
It's another living thing. Thus, you're saying that it's life isn't as valuable to simply because it isn't the same species of animal as you.
Shit I don't even place much value on the lives of my own species
I'm currently enjoying a cheeseburger.
I don't think 9mm is going to do much to a big hulky cow.

Hand guns are designed to take down humans not 1 ton bovine.
I myself have killed a cow with a single .22 round. Granted it was sick and dying and standing still, but these officers are still just painfully stupid.
What ever happened to lassoing the cattle instead of killing it for no reason? Permission or not, it's a waste of life.
ITT: lasso solves world's problems
I myself have killed a cow with a single .22 round. Granted it was sick and dying and standing still, but these officers are still just painfully stupid.
This one was moving. Have you ever tried getting a killing shot on a moving target, with a pistol?
What ever happened to lassoing the cattle instead of killing it for no reason? Permission or not, it's a waste of life.
So you'd rather put police officers at more risk than kill a cow? Your priorities seem pretty questionable to me.
You're basically going up against the opinion of the majority of FP.
I understand that.
How come you find that disgusting? Just wonderig=ng.
I see the cow as a sentient living thing. I see humans as a sentient living things. It may seem dumb, but I see the value of their life to be equal. A life is a life. The only way you could outweigh that is by usefulness to you, in the strange situation where you were forced to either kill a person or a cow. I think you should care about the cow no less than you would care for a human, in an average situation. I am also disturbed how they used "the owner's permission" as an excuse. Some of you see that as valid. I just hate how an animal is seen as property. It's just like slavery, except it doesn't involve humans. Hypocritically, I don't care too much about slaughterhouses that are to provide food for people. I probably seem like a complete moron to all of you, but that's just my opinion. I apologize if you disagree.
What bothers me is that the poor thing kept on running away, in obvious pain and didn't die from the first shot. If the cow would have died quickly it would have been more okay with me.
If animal domestication is slavery, you're saying that slavery has existed since at least 30000 B.C.
All I know is, the meat is immediately spoiled as soon as a cow runs. So even if it were caught, sending it to the slaughterhouse would have been a bad idea. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline] @LollNade so ur telling me they were unable to get atleast ONE? get off the cops dick u faggot, stop defending them. theres no reason to shoot the cow with a handgun. there are other ways to capture it. Eeuuuuughghgh
Those youtube comments are so rage inducing. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
What ever happened to lassoing the cattle instead of killing it for no reason? Permission or not, it's a waste of life.
This isn't a movie or video game, I'd like to see you lasso a 1000 pound plus animal with some rope.
Shooting it with a tiny pistol was wrong. They should've used a shotgun or rifle and properly killed it instead of blasting it with 20 little holes as it hobbles around. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
Did you even read the article?
Did you notice his username?
WHAT THE SHIT MAN. SERIOUSLY. WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT. FUCKING COPS.
Well done DeadCow.

[editline]1st November 2011[/editline] Did you notice his username? Well done DeadCow.
It's been said a few hundred times, but here goes... Police aren't allowed to use higher caliber weapons against animals. Only armed humans.
Did you notice his username?
...Ooooooh.
It's another living thing. Thus, you're saying that it's life isn't as valuable to simply because it isn't the same species of animal as you.
Oh please, in no measurement of special worth are any other animals more worthy than humans
"That's not really a gun is it?" Nope, its a blank gun, and you were just part of a movie.
This one was moving. Have you ever tried getting a killing shot on a moving target, with a pistol?
My point is that they're not as dangerous as everyone seems to be making them out to be.
Oh please, in no measurement of special worth are any other animals more worthy than humans
I just said it's my opinion. No need to say that my opinion is wrong.
They are scared of a 1.1k pound cow, what cowards! What do you think they shoulda done? Beat it up? [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] Cops in America have a shotgun in their car, 9mm are enough for a human and that's generally what cops deal with.
My pun Your head
I feel sorry for the cow but the police weren't in the wrong here. As the article said they tried several times to move it back into the trailer but it was too aggressive, and when it starts charging at children and police cars you really don't have much more options.
It's been said a few hundred times, but here goes... Police aren't allowed to use higher caliber weapons against animals. Only armed humans.
Then don't call the police on a cow. Call animal control.
Oh crap, this thread makes me rot because of many illegal words and phrases such as: children, shoot to kill, indoors, etc.
