I didn't know rapidshare was a 'piracy site'.
They delete pirated files when they get reported as pirated files. :raise:
If they're going to be this bias, why not include other various download sites e.g Filesmelt?
Because, it isn't a "piracy site".=P

because it is barely an empirical study, there is so many holes in it

adding other sites would just make it even worse
it's not an empirical study, at all.

yeah, i thats what i mean
they're clearly making no attempt to be fair and balanced, so why not add other innocent websites to the mix?
How people consume music has been changing for decades
Nom nom
I visit those sites for my linux distros :smug:
You are putting everyone on the same side, which is competely stupid. There are too many reasons that led people to download videos, musics, and games.
I love how people rate me dumb because they think I support piracy or I may explain this kind of thing completely wrong.
I said it was stupid to put always people who download files as if it was robbery. Not every download of music and game isn't... You don't buy for something you don't know well. I suppose it's the same thing for comics/books for example. You wouldn't buy it if you didn't read several pages of it, just admit it. But people won't download games if the editor/developer is smart enough to bring a demo from its game available for everyone. Same as for music, everyone on this forum have downloaded a MP3 file from an album before buying it (especially from a not-so-known artist). There are several and good artists who let you download some of their songs and you can donate them in return.
Yeah, there will be always some idiots who still steal, and these people can go fuck themselves (especially those who pirated the famous game pack for charity, I just don't understand why), but also some companies are acting like dicks and treating their customers like shit (Wicked DRM and too high price).
To put in a nutshell, both sides have their cons which are involved in piracy
apparently BBC thinks rapidshare, megaupload, etc. are p2p sites

Such sites are becoming as popular as peer-to-peer methods of accessing illegal content.
apparently you can't read
also it's silly to think that people only use megaupload and rapidshare and so on to pirate stuff - there's tonnes of legit content on there.
In Germany this week, that aim was struck a blow when the Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf ruled that Rapidshare does not have to install such filters.
Germany succeeds at raging America. 'LOLUMAD?

I wanted to make my own experience with this but turns out I can't print screen when my movie player is running. Absolutely retarded protection measures. Point is, got Scott Pilgrim on blu ray and what happens is 3 loading screens in a row, an ad telling me how great blu ray is, 4 movie ads, a blu ray menu with pop ups everywhere, then a screen asking if I want to connect my movie player to facebook? What the fuck? Then finally the movie after all the movie's logos and such.
