god damn i'm gonna have to watch the entire series again
what does that even have to do with my post
people saying that "if we burned THEIR HOLY THING we'd be hated etc/WE SHOULD BURN THEIR THINGS" when they already did.
so it had everything to do with your post.
allahu ackbar
why come any time someone says "I'm not racist," they're about to say something incredibly racist?
This is another thing that bothers me, how is it racist to simply have an opinion on a race? Racism is irrationally hating all members of a certain ethnicity/nationality. My opinion was simply that highly religious groups (such as muslims) have a set of views and a way of life that are completely outdated, and that they shouldn't be celebrated for the mere act of upholding their beliefs. I don't hate muslims at all.

Saying "muslims are neanderthals" is a bit more than an opinion.
what better way to celebrate our rights than by exercising them as fully as you can
ah yes, you are a "we must exercise our rights in a flagrantly ridiculous manner just because we can" kind of guy
you are a lot like the gents from the new hampshire free state project who walk down the street openly bearing assault rifles and shotguns, not for actual self defense that the second amendment intended to protect, but just for shits and giggles

yeah like them only we are sort of just setting fire to some cloth
[editline]12th September 2011[/editline]
you know as opposed to becoming secessionists
They were protesting against America in London? Hmm.
That's as far as they made it before realizing they can't drive to the US.

they're not so much secessionists, just a bunch of disillusioned libertarians
the point i'm trying to convey is that I support a person's right to bear arms just as I support a person's right to burn a flag in protest, but on a personal level i disagree with the notion that it is the best way to celebrate your rights. you can just as easily peaceably assemble in protest, petition your government, or voice yourself in a public forum to do that. I'm sure you see where I'm coming from.
I want a angry rating. I hate the double standards in society where every minority seems to be protected by a "it's their beliefs/way of life" bubble. A white christian burning a Koran would be called and uncivilized thug. But no, it's OK because they're a minority.
What the fuck ever, look at the people from Westborough Church burning Qu'rans saying it's their right. Muslims burning US flags are just as bad as them, and no one is saying differently.
[editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
Except you know, maybe having had entire countries ripped apart by conflict with the US, they have more grounds for hate than a single terrorist attack.
Saying "muslims are neanderthals" is a bit more than an opinion.
You're both exaggerating what I said and misinterpreting it. Like I said, individuals who are muslim, I have nothing against. Obviously muslims can be perfectly smart, nice people like anyone else. But the overall idea of being muslim, the idea that they uphold a ridiculous religion that is completely outdated and uncivilized, that's what I was calling out.
People aren't defined by their religion, so the fact that I hate the religion doesn't mean I hate muslim people. I do, however, have a problem with muslims who perform acts like this, and I also have a problem with people who think it's okay for muslims to act this way simply because they're a religous minority.

you said muslims are the least advanced civilization on this planet
not "the muslim religion has a negative effect on civilization."
You didn't blame the religion.
You said "the muslims" are primitive.
That's pretty racist.
I might travel over there and burn a Quran next to them

We should burn a Quaran in protest to their protest... but then they would start riots and burn shit down so we better not, and that is the difference between Crazy, and non Crazy

They burn our flag, the second we burn their Quran they'd possibly go jihad on our asses.
Country symbol =/= Religious symbol you asinine fools. And regardless, it's definitely not a sensible idea to object to stupid, offensive bullshit with more stupid, offensive bullshit.
muslim is a race now?
you said muslims are the least advanced civilization on this planet
not "the muslim religion has a negative effect on civilization."
You didn't blame the religion.
You said "the muslims" are primitive.
That's pretty racist.
Well I really don't care about that, it's a technicality. Just like calling muslims a race is technically inaccurate, but who cares. We both know what I meant.

It's not racist it's Islamophobic get it right gosh.
muslim is a race now?
When you can replace "muslim" with "brown person" and the sentiment remains the same, yes.
muslim is a race now?
hi sanius
Intolerance at its best.
When you can replace "muslim" with "brown person" and the sentiment remains the same, yes.
but what does that have to do with anything that's been said
I'm really confused right now
When you can replace "muslim" with "brown person" and the sentiment remains the same, yes.
But he said muslim, and most muslims aren't even arab, or brown.
I'll believe that we've lost the war when they stop being so desperate by doing things such as flying planes into buildings or running out in public with a bomb strapped to their chest.
And they say we face humiliation?
but what does that have to do with anything that's been said
I'm really confused right now
he said muslims are the most primitive people in the world.
He wasn't talking about Black Islam. He wasn't talking about western converts. He was talking about Arabic Muslims, and he called them the most primitive people on the planet. Watch the video. I don't see Malcolm X anywhere in there, and I'm pretty sure he's not talking about the black panthers.
Let's not play semantic games and pretend he's not talking exclusively about people in the middle east.
ah yes, you are a "we must exercise our rights in a flagrantly ridiculous manner just because we can" kind of guy

"Fine! Fine!, have your rights, just don't exercise them, its rude"
but what does that have to do with anything that's been said
I'm really confused right now
Nothing, I'm pretty sure he's still trying to call me racist even though I clearly laid out why I'm not.
[editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
he said muslim

Sorry, what? I already told you I was talking about the religion, not the individuals. And what are you rambling out Black Panthers and Malcom X for?
