Watching the live-stream, looks like they're standing in front of the 73rd precinct...
Did they really just handcuff a guy who was jumping with the American flag in his hands...?

Mhm.
Yeah, seems like they're cuffing some people who were marching a few minutes ago.
I just read that a New York judge has stated that the protestors are to be allowed a return to the park with their tents.
That's fantastic, I think they'll be way more effective now after what happened
Anyone know where they are taking the generators? Looks like they're placing them onto a truck.
Occupy supporters aren't much better though. If there's a misplaced tear-gas grenade etcetera they scream 'police brutality' (which admittedly is right too many times) but when news reaches of Occupiers being violent people shout 'i bet it's an undercover cop that's there to give them a bad image'.
It helps when the police force is suspiciously batshit and the Occupy force is conspicuously similar to normal "I just showed up to a protest for a free license to act stupid" asshattery.
Why can't they just continue protesting without "occupying" a public park so that the "public" cannot use it? I just don't get it.
That's how Martin Luther King and Ghandi did it; do you think your cause has special circumstances?
Martin Luther King was the most disruptive thing to happen to America at the time. I don't really see what's hard to understand here - disruptive doesn't mean violent like you seem to think.
By the way - I think you're underestimating MLK's "peacefulness" (by your definition of it). After all, he's the man who said:
[release]"Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. It seeks so to dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored."[/release]

Because of what I quoted Martin Luther King saying.
I posted this article in a thread a while back. While it is not specifically about this event, it addresses many of the issues regarding the police force. It is written by a police chief.

That man speaks the truth.

It's not like this never happened before though and wouldn't be very surprising if this was the case.

While that's certainly true, it's getting rather annoying to watch them shout it every single time.
so whats happened since 2am
so whats happened since 2am
Judge ruled that everyone is allowed back and that the cops can't touch them again, but the cops are still refusing people re-entry to the park since they appealed the decision
lip tattoos go away
lip tattoos go away
off topic but I feel it's worth noting, a friend of mine has CAT PWR with a picture of a kitten tattoo'd on his lip. I guess his friend was a tattoo artist and said "want a free tattoo? I've never done a lip tattoo before" and they went for it. luckily his isn't too visible.
anon is trying to get on tv with their shitty motto

correction, the judge ruled in their favor pending a hearing(which was supposed to happen at 11:30, I guess it still is)

I thought the protesters got an injunction or whatever it's called
don't those apply immediately
well the injunction was in the protesters favor, but it's a temporary injunction. the hearing will decide the fate of the protest
Goddamn so much info since I wokeup

Says nothing about them not being allowed to go back though, they just can't take tents. I hope OWS is large enough that people can organize rotating shifts of protesters to keep the park occupied without camping there.
Although I give it a week before it's full of tents again.

They're going to bring lumber and build houses there this time.
It's unfortunate that such poor arguments were made in favor of the injunction at court.
they should have made arguments along the lines of this: http://occupy.uslaw.com/post/11418297841/brookfield-office-properties-and-mayor-bloomberg-are
The OWS movement needs to get common workers and older masses into it in order to garner support.
Right now it's mostly young, educated people like students and new generation public workers. I think it's sad that not everyone is supporting this. Are they simply just taking it up the butt from corporations today?

Or maybe the protesters are wrong?
Or maybe the protesters are wrong?
You seem to have a vendetta against the protestors. What the fuck is your problem?
Or maybe the protesters are wrong?
Is it wrong to support families instead of corporate greed? Your head, how far is it up your ass?
