USA Today abandons no-endorsement policy to declare Trump unfit for office

My question was why is that more threatening than a candidate promising to essentially overturn the entire bill of rights? I mean, assuming the worst here, we're talking about Clinton reducing the scope of rights offered by the second amendment, while Trump promises to do the same (or worse) for the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 14th amendments. I hate to make it a simple numbers game, but...
So, why is the idea that you might not be allowed to buy assault rifles anymore scarier than the idea that we will no longer have free press, freedom of religion, protection against unreasonable search and seizure, protection against torture, the right to an attorney, the right to humane prison conditions, the right to a fair trial by a jury of your peers, or protection for legalized immigrant citizens who Trump has sworn to deport en masse on the basis of their ethnicity?

Like we said before. It's a game of chances. You cannot tell me with the utmost confidence that everything you just said will happen. I would personally value the likelihood of any of those things less to that of what the likelihood of Clinton pursuing the 2nd would be. I am really of the idea that Trump will be a dead-end president, delegating a lot of the issues to the states.
I'm going to say that in all honesty, the 1st is under no more threat from Trump over Clinton. They are both likely to continue the surveillance state. You mentioned "press" specifically for Trump over "speech", so I'll add that aside from his banning of certain press members, which he stopped, we are OK. Obama banned press too, and we are still in good shape.
I'm going to lump together the rest of the amendments you listed and assume it has to do with Trump's stance on Muslims mostly. Depending how he goes about it, it may not be as bad as it is. But if it starts to target actual citizens, then you would be correct. Fortunately, he seems to be directed at refusing refugees, which is not inherently a good or bad thing, as well as terror suspects overseas. I do believe the CIA came out to say that torture was ineffective, so that should really be a non-issue as I doubt they would re-implement a tactic proved to be ineffective just because it was allowed.
If you are targeting more domestic issues, such as crime, I wouldn't worry too much. Both candidates are speaking out about the ineffectiveness of our currently jailing and sentencing. As well as allowing more leniency on drug offenses.
As a side note as well, this extends well beyond my right to buy the black scary guns. It goes into self-defense, my lifestyle of living in remote areas, and the entire purpose of the 2nd (which I am sure will be controversial with people here, but let's not get into it this thread).
