No, pirates will play.
So People who bought the game will be unable to play but Pirates who bypassed the system will be the only ones who can. Magnificent.
When are companies going to catch on and realize they're creating incentive to pirate
Maybe that's what they want? If they go through with this and see a large increase in piracy, it gives them a good excuse to say hurr we don't develop for the PC anymore. Yes, it does sound absolutely retarded but remember we are talking about Ubisoft/EA here. [editline]11:33AM[/editline]
Ubisoft's new DRM was hacked WITHIN A DAY OF IT'S RELEASE. Are these huge companies really so stupid as to think that this will in any way deter pirates? It's just going to make less people buy their games!
Are you sure about that? There still isn't a fully working ACII crack released afaik.
I am now no longer purchasing any games. These companies are ruining the market for themselves, not the pirates.
EA and Ubisoft can shove a rusty nail up their dicks.
goddam
I like how people have gone from going "EA r teh best Activiosn shud burn!!!!11111111" to "FUCKING EA I HOPE THEY DIE LIKE DOGS!"
Companies never learn they should just ditch DRM altogether, hell they'll probably get more sales.
I like how people have gone from going "EA r teh best Activiosn shud burn!!!!11111111" to "FUCKING EA I HOPE THEY DIE LIKE DOGS!"
Well duh, I would stop loving my stuff if they became bad.
They are doomed.
If people hadn't become so greedy they wouldn't have to try adding anti-piracy measures. I don't really agree with their system but it isn't just the developers fault. It's people who want stuff for free that are the cause of all of it.
DRM or not, C&C4 is still a shitty game I wouldn't even bother pirating.
Great! Because EA are renowned for their incredibly stable servers, Doesn't bother me too much with command and conquer though that went shit when westwood went down the crapper.
OH MY GOD, are they fucking stupid??? Do non of these people learn from past mistakes/each other?? Looks like I'll have to turn to pirating on the high seas, yarrr.

It's already been cracked, chances are AC 2 is gonna follow soon.
I think it's all making sense to me now: If you can't make a good game, push 1/2 of its funds in DRM. Am i close?
Lol.
Hey , I am from EA and we know that we made wrong. We now are working at C&C 5 , we managed to get 1$ billion budget, we already spent 900$ for DRM development, now you need external server directly connected to ours to play this game , you may install the game almost 1 times before termination

Damn what a bargain.
God dammit, I've always LOVED the Command and Conquer games, why the gotta fuck with them?!
God dammit, I've always LOVED the Command and Conquer games, why the gotta fuck with them?1
Business is Business
I see a golden age for release groups.
No shit but if every publisher does this PC gaming can die. Except for valve.
EA made pretty shitty games to begin with, doesn't really concern me.
EA has never made and I expect will never make a game
EA has never made and I expect will never make a game
Developers under EA's control are almost directly affected by EA.
Fucking EA, and you seemed to be getting better. Still, it's only C&C4.
It's already been cracked, chances are AC 2 is gonna follow soon.
What are you on about, AC2 has already been cracked.
Huge ass-fucking mistake, EA.
What are you on about, AC2 has already been cracked.
not fully, from what i've heard. in ac2, small parts of the game are networked, so people are trying to capture all received data so they can mimic it. sounds like a pain in the ass, & who knows how long it could take. I'm sure pirates are hurting themselves with the whole DDOS thing - how are people supposed to research the packets coming from the server if the server is down? the drm has been fully circumvented for this game though.
Soon Video Game Companies are all going to die out due to lack funding and blame piracy. Meanwhile they are encouraging piracy by making it the only way possible to play the games you buy. Flawed logic is flawed.
So what's the next version of DRM going to be? They really need to loosen up and realize the pirating will never end.
