Guess what EA. I'm not buying!
Well shit, Ubisoft makes good games too! Where's that damn comic of the fatass kid saying "You are a bitch" from Gunshow when I need it
I found it. To EA and Ubisoft:
wow... what a bad decision. seems like ea is always on drugs xD
God Damn, Do they really think this is a good idea?
Whats the difference between needing a connection to start a game, and having a connection the whole time? Are you really going to disconnect while you're in game anyway?
Who's to say that my internet connection is solid, or that my laptop can always get a proper signal? When you purchase a game, especially if you are buying a physical copy of a single-player game from a retailer, the only thing that you should need to play it is a computer that is able to run it. Internet connection should never be a factor, since it has no effect on your computer's ability to run the game.

I'm so glad I bought an xbox. If I hadn't, I would have to deal with this shit for ME3. :ohdear:
Why are companies doing this shit when they know it doesn't fucking work.
Why are companies doing this shit when they know it doesn't fucking work.
It does work... ...for about 5 hours till it does get cracked by some Russian.
Wow... EA is already shit! Why did they hafto push it over the edge? [editline]01:35AM[/editline]
It does work... ...for about 5 hours till it does get cracked by some Russian.
Russian Network Buisness. The most advanced crackers/hackers in the world, been DDoSing my town's internet system for weeks now. They tracked it to Russia.
what the fuck are they doing can't they see that people are more likely to pirate it when they slap this DRM shit on their titles
wait does this mean I am fucked with Crysis 2?
wait does this mean I am fucked with Crysis 2?
Crytek ain't owned by EA, they'll just refuse.
Maybe they remove the DRM if no one buys the fucking games with the DRMs.
Ugh DRM. The healthcare debate of the gaming world.
Oh my god... I was just so proud of EA for releasing BFBC2 and thought that nothing bad could possibly go wrong, they are actually releasing good quality stuff with regard to the community. Guess this all just turned around. After I told my friend about Ubisoft doing this, he said he would pirate any game that ever did this shitty DRM and he is getting BFBC2. See, he has satellite internet, and when he wants to play a game, he relies on it ONLY having optional updates that would use up his precious bandwidth, the worst thing he can get is a game that forces him to use bandwidth unnecessarily. [editline]02:57AM[/editline]
Nice! How would I go about running this?
Save it as whatever you want and log into your linux machine, then I'm assuming you would compile it with the perl compiler and then ./nameofscript and it should start running.
Reason #601 why we love Valve.
Steam doesn't let you play games when your internet is down.
Steam doesn't let you play games when your internet is down.
Offline mode. :downs:
All games are cracked within a month of release.
splinter cell: chaos theory would like a word with you
splinter cell: chaos theory would like a word with you
and that Football Manager game
I'm still gonna buy it because EA has no acces to fuck up it's storyline.
it's not like the don't have access, they just either don't have the balls to try it or have the brains to know not to. let's hope they leave DA alone as well. making it multiplatform and "the sims" has already pulled it so far away from the "spiritual Baldur's Gate clone" thing that i only recognice minimal similarities. multiplatform aint bad, but it needs to be planned from the get go... not 3-4 years into development.
EA, Ubisoft and Activision are giant companies, manned by intelligent and rich businessmen, who got where they are now by pleasing customers and producing good games. HAVE THEY GONE MAD?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED, A FIVE YEAR OLD COULD FIGURE OUT THIS IS A STUPID IDEA.
oh, and you pirate the games as a result of the drm, you aren't helping anyone
Steam doesn't let you play games when your internet is down.
534 other :downs:'s have said this now... :fuckoff: now, there is this nifty thing called offline mode that works beyond perfect that (get this, it's amazing.) let's you play your games without web connection.:psyduck: got it?

Valve needs to start adopting developers and becoming their publishers. What they're doing is really dumb. Piracy is loss of potential sales, but so is DRM
I find it interesting in these stories that when people post, they often say "I'm glad I bought and Xbox360/PS3". I think that is exactly what the aim is with things like this, they aren't really concerned if it pushes people away from PC gaming and to a console, because it seems like they find it alot easier to cater to the console crowd. I have both consoles myself, and this isn't about which is better for games. This about the publishers obviously wanting to take their ball and play in someone elses yard, and to be honest i'd wish they'd just get it over with and live in their xen idea of their being no piracy on consoles instead of pulling shit like this all the time.
splinter cell: chaos theory would like a word with you

and that Football Manager game
I've never played them.
I've never played them.
Chaos Theory is great you should try it.
It also seems that C&C 4 has had it's reviews locked out on Amazon.co.uk due to the amount of negative feedback left for the game, however it isn't locked out on Amazon.com.
