transformers is stupid but people who rate dumb because "Lol transformers is shit and you like it, what a dumby" should stop posting
There's no way the humor in this is worse than the cringy bullshit in the second movie.
And the original cartoon wasn't? If anything that means it's staying as close to the original as possible. :v:
Yes, Marphy, despite what your nostalgia goggles might tell you, when you get down to it all the original cartoon was, was a half-hour long toy commercial.
An AWESOME toy commercial, but a commercial nonetheless.
by that logic the movies are even worse
they're not only advertising toys but also chevy, burger king, ebay, porsche, etc etc
This is still superior.

Hell, pretty much any Transformers series is better than Bay's movies, Beast Wars, Armada, Cybertron, Animated, Prime...
The only series I can think of that can be compared to these movies would be Energon, or maybe some of that obscure Japanese shit. Also I was very surprised that Bay actually acknowledged that a series other than G1 even existed(Armada).

Yeah but if you're going to bash a movie for something, focus on the important shit like acting, plot, visuals, etc. No need for one to flip their shit over a strategically placed Coke can when that company likely made the movie possible anyway.
I will agree though that the new CG movies are pretty lack-luster, the only thing you really want to see in them is big-ass robots beating the fuck out of each other and you barely get to see any of that through all the human drama and army wankery.

except people do focus on the acting and plot. the product placement, which also falls under "visuals" fyi, is so in-your-face and over the top that it's hard not to complain about it
I just got back from the movie.
It was so bad, but I loved every second of it and I'd watch it over again.
Let the hate flow through you
I'd rather wait to see it before making a decision based on a review from a site like RT
i think you misunderstood what RT is standing for here...

Rotten tomatoes is almost always spot-on though
By almost always do you mean almost never spot on and filled with snobby reviewers that look so far down their nose at you that they're cross-eyed?
Just watched it. I enjoyed seeing big ass robots get blown to pieces and big ass robots riding big ass robot dinosaurs.
"He enjoyed the film? He must be rated dumb the foolish plebian!"
Really guys, understand that other users have different opinions of films to you. It's like being on /tv/ all over again and by /tv/ I mean being full of immature 13 year olds who can't handle a differing opinion to theirs.
Yeah I went in without any expectations for a deep engaging plot, it's a Michael Bay film where you go for the explosions not to get your brain twisted by the plot or care for deep characters. And you know what? He delivered. I got my explosions and big ass robots.
It's not like the animated Transformer movie was better than this. It killed a lot of main characters to sell a new toy line yet people wank off to it for being the true Transformer experience.
This is a series made to sell toys anyway, it aint a Sundance film. If you don't like it then go watch other movies for which there are many.
The movie was a typical good popcorn movie, its not good, its not bad, its just a fun movie you would watch on a boring sunday or something.
Avengers was a popcorn movie and it was fucking awesome
You can't excuse a movie being god awful by saying it's just an action flick.
Why? Michael Bay films may not be cerebral, but they're plenty of good old mindless fun.
First one, maybe. The newer ones are painful to watch if you attempt at all to try and figure out what is going on.
I liked it.
The action is too much I just get sick of the fucking same robot fight, I just want the plot to continue but it just puts more things to fight in it, god fucking damn it stop my head is beating like a drum so much annoying loud action.
[sp]also why did they the comedy relief character at an early point in the film, like it was depressing and it made no sense[/sp]
They referenced MLP in the movie, had a scaled-up Funko Rainbow Dash model in it. Spoilers I guess:
[sp]A scientist was holding "transformium" and the transformium was in the form of Rainbow Dash. The transformium then changed from Rainbow Dash to an AR-15. The image isn't shopped

The only thing bothers me is none of these movies have a remastered version of this song:

It sums up how lame transformers is and sets the tone for how stupidly terrible these movies are gonna be.
My local theater just upgraded to digital projectors after tons of fundraisers and donations, and to celebrate, the first digital movie they got was this. :v:
Damn they must have some dedicated fans because digital projectors are fuck expensive.
When I was a projectionist in 2008, we got our first digital projector (a Barco) and it was $150,000 for the projector and another $15,000 for the special silver screen for 3D movies.
In 2011 when they finally replaced all of the old machines (these were NEC) and fired us, they were down to $65,000 a projector, but still $15,000 for the screen because of the silver doping on the porous fabric.
Ironically the old Barco was of better quality and had a higher resolution AND was smaller than the newer NEC projectors. It could do scoped 1920x1080 or flat 2048x1536. The NEC projectors could only do scoped 1280x900 or flat 1280x1024. If you were sitting in the first 5-6 rows you could actually see the grainy large pixels on the screen.
I hated the third movie but I enjoyed the first and second. And the big problem was the running time, 3 fucking hours. really?

Fucking dropped
I feel like the reviewers are going into this movie with some fucked up expectations of a masterpiece to rival The Best Movie Of All Time™.
they almost couldn't pay michel bay to make another one, but then they put enough 0's on the check that he couldn't refuse
Well, it's no worse than pretentious drivel with nothing happening for 2 hours.
There's a new transformer's movie out?

They managed to raise about $30,000, then some guy donated $90,000. If you're interested, you can read about it here.
Transformers tries to tell a story, fails at it.
Tries to be a bunch of crazy action sequences and it ends up just being these blocky blobs of CGI rolling around the screen, if you can actually make out what the fuck is happening during the action sequences then you're a liar.
I feel like the reviewers are going into this movie with some fucked up expectations of a masterpiece to rival The Best Movie Of All Time™.
No I'm pretty sure they're going with the expectations of it being a movie that isn't a waste of their time and money.
I stay away from this series for the same reason I stayed away from Dragonball: Evolution.
Movies such as these are TERRIBLE at adapting the source material. Having Michael Bay as director does NOTHING to help that issue.
