Yeah, the only way he could have lived there was by putting hands up. Certainly not hands in the pants.

Pretty clear he wanted to die there, suicide by cop
As I said, I know, and in the scenario I linked they had an ambulance waiting nearby because here in europe we actually try to save people.
he was standing in an enclosed area with a bolt action rifle where he had no line of sight on anybody. you have to be basically brain dead to think that that's at all comparable to a guy with a semi-automatic pistol with numerous possible targets directly in front of him.
Are people actually mad at the cops for shooting an ARMED suicidal man who refused to comply to orders multiple times and instead drew his weapon? Definitely, it seems that cops have been overusing lethal force, especially in potentially racially driven situations, but this just doesnt seem like that to me.
A bullet doesn't care if it was fired by a soldier, or a kid, or a cripple. They'll kill their victim just as well. If he had a gun and wouldn't relinquish it, then it's his own fault he's dead.
I love people who don't understand context and the fact that being in a wheelchair doesn't mean you can't turn your head around and shoot someone trying to tase you from behind.
Honestly though, why don't patrol cars have a pistol resistant ballistic shield in the trunk, it would be much safer to charge at and disable people with shitty handguns or melee weapons. Or not, but what do I know? I'm just a silly teenager with no combat experience.

Expensive as hell, SWAT teams sometimes have that kind of thing though.
Classic FP, "If I was in that situation I would have handled it better!"
More like "if certain other nation's police forces were in that situation, they would have handed it better!"
Everyone saying he pulled out a fun but all I see in the video is him fidgeting around in his chair. I think the cops are cowards for killing him before he became a threat to others

They found a gun though, and I'm sorry the police cared more about the lives of others than his.

He reached into his pocket where the cops knew he had a gun. The pocket a gun was eventually found in.
Stop trying to shoehorn your anti-cop stance into this.
He had a gun doesnt mean he pulled out a gun. Stop trying to rationalize execution

Its legal here in the state to carry a gun in certain circumstances

Doesn't matter, the guy had already fired a shot before police arrived. But I guess it's easy to judge when you haven't read the article.
And it doesn't matter if it's legal or not. You don't reach for your gun when interacting with police.
Cody, HE WAS SUICIDAL, SO HE HAD N O T H I N G TO LOSE
Don't fucking bring in "" boohoo it was an execution"

Just because hes willing to hurt himself and hes armed doesnt mean he should be killed for reaching into his pocket
or he could've pulled a gun? Don't pretend what he's saying is stupid.
I didn't, what you said was though.
Just because hes willing to hurt himself and hes armed doesnt mean he should be killed for reaching into his pocket
The safety of the safety of everyone else came first and always will come first. There's no sense in taking the risk.
Shooting someone in the leg on purpose is a reckless gamble with the suspects life. If that guy was hit in the femoral artery he would've bleed to death right there. If the cop missed, the suspect could be paralyzed for the rest of his life, etc, etc.
Besides, the wheelchair man had already shot himself. Shooting him in his (paralyzed) legs like an action here isn't going to help the situation.
I want to go with "Any chance at this point is the best chance". Not saying that couldn't of happened, but the officer had the best intentions for doing it, even if it was pretty ballsy doing it with a 9mm MP5.
Do we have a follow up on this guy, is he doing ok?
Just because hes willing to hurt himself and hes armed doesnt mean he should be killed for reaching into his pocket
Are you seriously saying that the police officers shouldn't defend themselves or innocent people? From a guy who has already wildly discharged his firearm?
Those officers have family too you know. But fuck them they're cops right?
Suicide by cop. Don't see the big deal.

And fuck all the people in a ten block radius too
Yeah he could of evaded capture and gone round some of these cops houses and slaughtered their loved ones.
He's willing to hurt himself and others. There is a gun in his pocket which he was using earlier.
Leave it to Cody to try to argue against what can only be described as suicide by cop.

I think he should have been arrested but killing him is not what heroes would do
Always nice to see britbongs and various other flavors of eurotrash providing commentary on my country and how it should be run.
disregarding the fact that the population of their country is generally 1/10th the number of mine.
Steadily increasing every day.
With countless different races, cultures, and people's all crammed together, and an drug war of increasing severity slowly creeping from the south of the continent into the midlands.
Fuck outta here with that.
I think he should have been arrested but killing him is not what heroes would do
"Not what heroes would do"? Who are these "heroes" you speak of?
I think he should have been arrested but killing him is not what heroes would do
Yeah, next time the cops hear about someone shooting at people and threatening to kill himself, they should just walk up and kindly ask him to stop so that he can be put under arrest. If he reaches in his pocket and pulls out a gun, they should just let him shoot them, because that's what heroes would do.
Why is armed in quotes in the title... the dude was armed with a .38

What. The use of the quotation marks around the word in the title implies that its in question- which it is not. The man was armed with a .38.
