Here we go
Yeah! It's called a discussion! Here we go!
Where did I say I disagreed with what he said? I said that because I, and even a blind man could see what this thread is going to degrade into.
It's funny because this thread degraded only because of your comment alone, so while trying to predict what was going to happen you actually managed to cause it to happen, nice going :v:
How about... take the children away? They'd probably be better off in an orphanage.
Where did I say I disagreed with what he said? I said that because I, and even a blind man could see what this thread is going to degrade into.
If it's so obvious then why was it worth pointing out?
Religion harming people? Now that's a new one!
Here we go
I'm assuming you were expecting a religious debate, but I'm sure you realise that everybody that visits this thread will agree that taking faith to such extreme lengths is not only harmful but ridiculous.
This would be one thing if the child were an adult, but he's not. He didn't have a choice in the matter. This is bullshit.
I really hope these people get a slow and painful disease, which is easily curable / vaccined against normally, just like what they have done to their own son.

You know, faith healing works. I have faith in my doctor, and so far I'm not dead yet.

This doesn't fit the definition of murder. It's neglect. They wanted the kid to live, but the methods they relied on were questionable.
This doesn't fit the definition of murder. It's neglect. They wanted the kid to live, but the methods they relied on were questionable.
Fits manslaughter though.
Out of curiosity, should a situation arise where all the other 6 kids become ill with any disease or injury which proves fatal if untreated and these people are given full freedom to act as they see fit, how would it shake, change or in any way, if at all, affect their belief when praying gets all 6 remaining kids killed as well...? It's sickening to think (and I hope people don't use this as an excuse) that they could just flick it off with "It was all part of God's plan" or some bullshit like that. Humanity has come so far. Holding such rigid, conservative (I'd actually prefer to call them regressive) views is tolerable if you keep them to yourself. Laying them on others (no less your children who may or may not even be capable of formulating a proper opinion and decision on the matter) is asinine and downright INSULTING to the intelligence and cunning of Humanity.
Those are not just horrible parent, but horrible people in general.
Hey sweet negligent homicide with an excuse. Too bad that excuse happens to be the untouchable religion card.
