I don't understand anything happening in this thread.
Hype to the moon and back

The most innovative musician in electronic music is making a return.
I haven't listened to Aphex Twin that much but I really do like Selected Ambient Works (except fucking Green Calx).
Where should I go from there? He seems to have made some quite diverse music.
Try Selected Ambient Works volume 2. A lot of it is rather unsettling but the majority of it is really interesting and intricate ambient work. If Rhubarb doesn't tear you up then you are a hollow shell of a human.

Green Calx is the shit w0t r u talking about
Didn't he say that he has multiple albums completed now?
iirc he said in some interview or something that he's been sitting on like 6 completed albums and an assortment of tracks (finished and unfinished) for years now. I don't know why he doesn't just release some stuff.
i havent heard this guys stuff in awhile. pretty neat stuff he makes.

I imagine he's somewhat self-conscious about them. Lots of musicians sit on unreleased tracks simply because of how they feel about them.
Also I suppose this can be a case of better late than never to get in to him, right?? Never truly listened to him before, but so far loving what I hear.
Aphex twin is pretty overrated, then again I never was a fan of that sorta electronic music where the melody is notes created by a random number generator.

Yet another quality post from the Fatfatfatty thinktank! Thanks a lot for your insightful post!
I don't really care for the guy's newer music. His old stuff was incredibly innovative for its time. Not so much anymore, but I guarantee he'll make a huge comeback if he does release an album this year.

Aphex twin might sound like a lot of randomness, but underneath the electronic side, they're very elaborate and complex compositions.

You absolutely have no idea how RDJ makes his music or his background, do you? Please do the research before you burble flat-out lies like a broken toilet overflowing with festering sewage.

Honest to god, I don't know how anyone can call RDJ a typecast electronic artist who 'uses random number generators' when he can make such absolutely wonderful pieces like this. I mean Christ, he even did a whole load of EP's where he only used analog equipment in order to get back in touch with his roots.

That's probably fake. I heard many people saying that it's fake.
Aphex Twin is pretty great, at first I didn't understand electronic music but now that I grew up and stopped being naive about music theory I pretty much think it's all great. It's shame I wasn't more open to it earlier in life, but now that I have been making music I think a lot of that early experimental electronic music is creeping into my own stuff without me noticing.

The process of creating it means fuck all when it still sounds like shit.

I love that song. Chair squeak and scissors, I love it when people get creative like this.
