We have medicine against it now. It's not really a problem any more. But it's still insane to think that in 1349, the plague wiped out 2/3rds of my county's population, which in effect changed my country's culture, language and sovereignty still fully evident today. (Norway)
this is mostly because their prisons are full of shit and a cesspool, and every prisoner is usually infected
