He got mad and left, and came back with one to two people? Why does this sound more like this was planned and not simple work place violence? I'll wait for a while and wait for more info, but this seems different.
KTLA stream. They did apparently change houses though.
Yeah, not confirmed then. Be careful throwing around speculation like that during this. "Confirming" bad information doesn't help anything. This seems to be just be a sweep of houses in the area. Nothing is confirmed unless the police themselves confirm it.
They've apparently been using "in custody" as a nicer term for "dead as fuck" so I guess we have 2 dead and 1 missing? I dunno, shit's confusing
So how many suspects are there?
They've apparently been using "in custody" as a nicer term for "dead as fuck" so I guess we have 2 dead and 1 missing? I dunno, shit's confusing
"dealt with" aka "blown away"
When people argue in favor of "demilitarizing" SWAT because the equipment looks scary, think of how many more deaths would've happened if we weren't prepared. This is exactly why we have these vehicles and weapons.
The crazies are certainly better and better equipped these days, why would you not want your police force equipped to adequately deal with such threats? Hell, the first bomb-squad robots were cobbled together out of junk, and they make such a difference in dealing with those situations.
Radio station reported a dead duck possibly killed by crossfire! ;(

Jesus Christ
Radio station reported a dead duck possibly killed by crossfire! ;(
demilitarize police now
"You can see they're taking every precaution. They just opened up that trash can to see if there was anything suspicious, or if the suspect was hiding in the trash can."
Because organizing 3 men with weaponry, armor, transportation and convincing them to shoot up an ongoing meeting takes a while? Jesus Christ
Did I say that? No, stop putting words in my mouth. Clearly this was planned, planning doesn't have to take a while, just saying for them to have had what they supposedly had, they clearly had something planned.
So how many suspects are there?
CBC is reporting three
It looks like they don't have all the suspects detained/dead. They're still searching for someone on the scanner and evacuating people.
Radio station reported a dead duck possibly killed by crossfire! ;(
I guess you could say he forgot to duck
This is all very confusing, three heavily armed assailants attack a disabled persons' home, stop deliberately 2 miles away from the crime scene, and apparently have body armor and a bunch of other strange things. I can't even wager a guess at a motive
I guess you could say he forgot to duck
Woah dude! Too soon.
What's the bet no-one does anything to address the issue of mass shootings after this due to a country-wide lack of inertia and apathy
What's the bet no-one does anything to address the issue of mass shootings after this due to a country-wide lack of inertia and apathy
how would you address the issue
Ahahahahahaha what the fuck is actually wrong with you? A monk protesting via self-immolation: "OH MY GOD WHAT AN ASSHOLE WHAT IF A KID SAW THAT!!!!" A criminal, dead, bleeding on the ground: "fuck yeah show that shit on TV where all kinds of people can see it!!!!" What the almighty FUCK is wrong with you?
So, those are different things. And nothing is "wrong" with me. I think showing a murderer dead is different than an unrelated topic to this thread.
how would you address the issue
The scaling back of availability of firearms combined with rigorous competency and mental health checks for people wanting them probably
Did I say that? No, stop putting words in my mouth. Clearly this was planned, planning doesn't have to take a while, just saying for them to have had what they supposedly had, they clearly had something planned.
Read your post wrong but nobody had been suggesting workplace violence anyway, its been obvious from the start it was planned.
The scaling back of availability of firearms combined with rigorous competency and mental health checks for people wanting them probably
That would all take decades to have an impact, providing it were even properly enforced.
The scaling back of availability of firearms combined with rigorous competency and mental health checks for people wanting them probably
I'm quite sure you don't understand the scale of such a task considering you're not American, but let me give you a quick run-down on how that's not possible. It's not possible.
The scaling back of availability of firearms combined with rigorous competency and mental health checks for people wanting them probably
The US has a history of not being able to support bans that didnt have full public support. look at prohibition or the current drug crisis as examples
I'm quite sure you don't understand the scale of such a task considering you're not American, but let me give you a quick run-down on how that's not possible. It's not possible.
"its not possible because...... i said so" hah won another internet argument!
What stream are you all watching, or is it still the scanner? I was cooking dinner.
That would all take decades to have an impact, providing it were even properly enforced.
Well I'm sure we can all agree there's no quick fix so decades is pretty good all things considered.
What stream are you all watching, or is it still the scanner? I was cooking dinner.
KTLA has a stream here http://ktla.com/on-air/live-streaming/

I'm listening to this stream of the scanner. http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/13038/web
