the rate at which these keep happening is fucking ridiculous, how can people protest firearm/mental health reform
If they are wearing body armor, I think that the shooters would go the extra mile to get illegal guns.
Police most likely on the lookout for the Black Yukon. Haven't heard anything about another shooting
you're a fool if you're letting inanimate objects put fear into your life
You mean people who use inanimate objects to threaten the lives of those that differ in opinion.
Tell me, what will a firearm "reform(???)" do to keep people from stealing guns? Criminals don't fucking follow laws.
many firearms used in public shootings were acquired through legal loopholes or just general dumb shit, or with stuff like the VA tech shooting where a clearly disturbed individual bought guns with no real effort
Detonated not by the defusal robot? Holy fuck. I think I might have misunderstood
By "Detonated" he probably meant "forcibly dismantled by a high-pressure water cannon", either that or they relocated it into a detonation chamber.
ah yes the terrifying gun lobby, the worst thing to hit america since undeclared global warfare
It's been said before but can we actually fucking not?
Police most likely on the lookout for the Black Yukon. Haven't heard anything about another shooting
Patton Hospital is code 4 so no more assistance required
the rate at which these keep happening is fucking ridiculous, how can people protest firearm/mental health reform
because changing laws and altering institutions wont change the fact that theres crazy ass people out there that need compassion on a personal level
you're a fool if you're letting inanimate objects put fear into your life theres no sense in a gun control argument here or anywhere else because thats not an issue unless you're politician trying to further a political agenda (or afraid of inanimate objects)
Nah I just like talking politics.
because changing laws and altering institutions wont change the fact that theres crazy ass people out there that need compassion on a personal level
thats sort of what i mean when i say mental health reform. america as a whole has a track record of terrible treatment towards people with mental issues, a fact that is worsened immensely by the amount of media attentions the shooters always get without fail
There are three mods watching this thread, please stop talking about guns before everyone is culled over off topic.
Skipping between the posts debating gun control etc for actual news here. Shit now I'm one of many posts complaining
All of you talking gun debate shit, no mater what side you are on, this is NOT THE TIME FOR THIS.
People just reporting every black SUV in the city now?
you're a fool if you're letting inanimate objects put fear into your life theres no sense in a gun control argument here or anywhere else because thats not an issue unless you're politician trying to further a political agenda
Of course I'm afraid of guns you clown, that's the entire problem. I'm afraid enough of being murdered by a random stranger that I desire to push a political agenda that will decrease the likelihood of that shit from happening. This is how reality works.
Yay my brother also drives a black yukon.. Is also right down the street from the shooting, so his job is on lockdown
You should call him and have him identify his vehicle and person to the police so that they can ignore his vehicle as a suspect.
the rate at which these keep happening is fucking ridiculous, how can people protest firearm/mental health reform
This happened in the state with some of the most strict regulations l, what more do you want? Not being a smartass, genuinely curious.
All of you talking gun debate shit, no mater what side you are on, this is NOT THE TIME FOR THIS.
If we have to wait a week after a shooting before we are allowed to talk about gun control then we will never be able to talk about gun control because these happen more than once a week now.
Of course I'm afraid of guns you clown, that's the entire problem. I'm afraid enough of being murdered by a random stranger that I desire to push a political agenda that will decrease the likelihood of that shit from happening. This is how reality works.
This is not the time nor place for this discussion. I will also state that quite frankly, talks about very heavy and passionate topics like gun laws or mental healthcare should be done in a calm polite setting, with rationale and logic. In a time like this, emotions are very high. This is not the time, it is not the place. Let us soak in and understand what is happening right now.
If we have to wait a week after a shooting before we are allowed to talk about gun control then we will never be able to talk about gun control because these happen more than once a week now.
how about we wait for, you know, the shooting to stop?
If we have to wait a week after a shooting before we are allowed to talk about gun control then we will never be able to talk about gun control because these happen more than once a week now.
You can at least wait until the active shooting has stopped.
If we have to wait a week after a shooting before we are allowed to talk about gun control then we will never be able to talk about gun control because these happen more than once a week now.
Did I say a week, wait till AFTER THIS IS OVER, not while shit is still going on.
actually thats how terrorism works "noun the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims."
...Is this a serious post? Because this is just, like, unconscionably fucking ridiculous.
Of course I'm afraid of guns you clown, that's the entire problem. I'm afraid enough of being murdered by a random stranger that I desire to push a political agenda that will decrease the likelihood of that shit from happening. This is how reality works.
Your personal paranoia cannot justify depriving millions of people of their lawfully owned and maintained hobby and defense firearms I, and most other gun owners, are happy to entertain the idea of effective regulations but so far none have been proposed that haven't been tried before and later used to institute a de facto ban (see: UK) - so until the government isn't an abusive pile of untrustworthy bullshit most people who own guns are going to deny regulatory measures that leave room for arbitrary confiscation.
Tell me, what will a firearm "reform(???)" do to keep people from stealing guns? Criminals don't fucking follow laws.

This happened in the state with some of the most strict regulations l, what more do you want? Not being a smartass, genuinely curious.
State regulations are meaningless because all someone has to do is drive a weapon across from an adjacent state, and private resale from someone else who has done that makes even doing that yourself unnecessary. We need national gun reform.
Can we just make a thread in GD about guns and whenever a shooting happens, OP links the GD gun thread?

The point of that argument is that you're pointlessly and frankly unlawfully confiscating responsibly owned property from millions of people who will never use it to pose a threat for the sake of keeping such items out of the hands of the exceedingly small amount of people who will - and it won't even work, as effectively proven by the UK's still measurable levels of gun crime.

You know what, I really think you are just here to cause shit.
