98 to 2000 was a pretty big jump, what with that new kernel I'm not even going to continue listing differences, a new kernel is enough to warrant a selling as a new operating system
I meant for that, Lion has a lot of "under the hood" changes but not much of anything the end user will appreciate except maybe a bit of a performance boost.
So does everyone else who pushes out smartphones...
Yes, atleast they have the courtesy to include features which have been on dumbphones for the last oh.... half a decade? USB mass storage expandible memory via microSD slot WORKING bluetooth GASP WHAT NEW AND INOVATIVE FUCKING IDEAS!
lion doesn't have many under the hood changes.
every android device sucks go apple
The Galaxy S II wants a word with you. As do most of the higher end HTC phones.
Apple's entire business strategy is based around brand recognition and consumer ignorance and sadly it works all too well.
You are right on the ball there.
lion doesn't have many under the hood changes.
The Apple media representative I spoke to said it did :V
I thought OS X had the encryption feature already? I'll admit that is something Microsoft needs to work on but I just feel it's a disappointment after so much hype. It should've been a free update honestly. [editline]20th July 2011[/editline] Arguably that is a good thing but it just feels like what should be a free update, comparable to the jump from Windows 98 to Windows 2000
Just home folder encryption which was incredibly crappy and exploitable.
The Galaxy S II wants a word with you. As do most of the higher end HTC phones.
My Droid 1/2/3/X//HTC G1/Galaxy Fascinate/HTC EVO/Epic 4G would like to have a word with the every single version of the iPhone released. My G1 had features the iPhone didn't and still doesn't to this day.
The Apple media representative I spoke to said it did :V
the apple media representative was talking it up don't believe everything they tell you
My Droid 1/2/3/X//HTC G1/Galaxy Fascinate/HTC EVO/Epic 4G would like to have a word with the every single version of the iPhone released.
My Droid 1/2/3/X//HTC G1/Galaxy Fascinate/HTC EVO/Epic 4G would like to have a word with the every single version of the iPhone released.
your g1 sucked shit while my iphone didn't and still doesn't to this day
You best be trolling. The G1 had far more out of the box functionality than the iPhone.
why? mercedes and apple both offer 'premium' products and people keep saying that apple computers can do exactly the same thing as windows computers and afaik mercedes cars do pretty much the same thing as all other car brands?
Actually it's completely accurate. Whereas using a mac is essentially absolutely no different in feel or result compared to using a windows machine of the same quality (for less) driving a mercedes is actually somewhat different than driving another car. It's somewhat due to the fact that cheaper brands can't offer the same level of quality of a lower price. Or at least very rarely do. While they are a number of car brands in similar quality levels that are cheaper, the different isn't that massive as the costs go. mac's costing the double and more for the same hardware and build quality as a windows laptop is a ludicrous difference. But out of curiosity - I'd like to know where the majority of apple's growth is. Is it in the OSx department or the mobile one. I'd assume it's the mobile one.
The only ignorance I see is that their Mac and iPad line are way overpriced.
And that people will line up every single year to buy the next $500 cell phone, that is fundamentally the same as the one they bought 3 years ago, 2 years ago and last year.
your g1 sucked shit while my iphone didn't and still doesn't to this day
My Sony Ericsson K750 actually had MORE features than my iPhone 3G. Like this amazing one called "video recording", hell, it actually had multitasking. The only thing that it didn't have is a massive multitouch screen.
If you buy a Mac to game on, you're an idiot.
I disagree.
I disagree.
Cool. Place your opinion in the box and it will be reviewed in a 1 - 2 week period.
I disagree.
I don't.
I just provided a box to put it in :downs:
Yeah well my iPad 2 has been sitting on my shelf collecting dust ever since I did my review, hated using that thing while my Xoom/Galaxy Tab 10.1 have received the well-deserved attention. Also the frontfacing camera is shit and the iPad 2 was a massive disappointment overall.
the xoom ahaha what an embarrassment. tarnished the word tablet forever
The only ignorance I see is that their Mac and iPad line are way overpriced.
Ipod g4 Same proccesor same screen same internals except camera - 200 dollars Iphone 4g Same proccesor same screen little strong outer camera and the ability to call - 600 dollars. The production of a iphone (- Development) costs less then 50 dollars.
Ipod g4 Same proccesor same screen same internals except camera - 200 dollars Iphone 4g Same proccesor same screen little strong outer camera and the ability to call - 600 dollars. The production of a iphone (- Development) costs less then 50 dollars.
Kinda unfair to compare an unlocked iPhone to an iPod touch because most people buy their phones with a contract bringing the price down to a more reasonable $200.
Apple is the most successful company ever? Why? They sell easy to use expensive shit that make you look hip and cool, that and the majority of the human population are impulsive morons that buy the newest iphone when they can't pay their own rent. Fucking success Apple.
I'm still waiting to see what's going to cause Apple to lose it. You can't keep your profit margin that big forever.
25-30% is a serious margin too.
I'm still waiting to see what's going to cause Apple to lose it. You can't keep your profit margin that big forever.
Exxon Mobile has managed to do it for decades, although fossil fuel is a whole other market than home electronics, obviously.
IIT: Jelly tries to defend Apple by any means necessary.
ironically people still see apple as the underdogs
They are in the PC market but their iOS devices are certainly mainstream
Everything Apple has done had been done years before by another company on a cheaper product, and done better. Apple is like that slow kid with downs trying to ride a turtle backwards, but gains an audience because people like watching.
I have Mac at work and Windows at home and I love it that way.
