I have Mac at work and Windows at home and I love it that way.
Usually it's the other way around. Must be a shitty place to work. [editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
Kinda unfair to compare an unlocked iPhone to an iPod touch because most people buy their phones with a contract bringing the price down to a more reasonable $200.
When I think of phones I'm thinking full retail value, those contracts are a load of shit.
The only ignorance I see is that their Mac and iPad line are way overpriced.
Planned obsolescence... on almost all of their product lines.
You gotta admit, OS X is light years ahead of Windows. It's even well designed enough that it runs on an iPhone. Microsoft has had to have two different OS's for PDAs/Phones and Desktops for years.
Just shows that advertisement can beat product quality.
It's even well designed enough that it runs on an iPhone.
Yes, because they just installed it straight onto the iPhone the whole UI, and ARM compatibility were already there! :downs:
Just shows that advertisement can beat product quality.
That's pretty fucking cute. Apple are miles ahead of the competition on the build quality front. Seriously that's the only thing that makes me want their products. Apple absolutely destroy the competition in terms of design and build quality. An iPad feels like a solid piece of metal, whereas many other tablets just feel like pieces of plastic. I saw a hp tablet where you could squeeze the corner and it would go in. I'm not saying they never break, because they do, my dads macbook pro broke after only 2 years of very occasional use. This is coming from someone who uses windows and loves microsoft, but you've got to hand it to them; they make good products. Now if only they could stop acting like elitist dicks...
Windows and Mac is the same thing except one is more expensive.
Windows and Mac is the same thing except one is more expensive.
And one has a multitude of games, affordable hardware and non-hipster users.
Windows and Mac is the same thing except one is more expensive.
And one is a better overall experience, one is for professionals and one is for child's play.

Windows 8 however has been confirmed to run on tablets and PCs and is compatible with ARM processors.
I have a Mac desktop and a desktop with windows. If I need to do anything past browsing the web and watching videos it is on the Windows computer. Macs are far more annoying to work with. No apple I don't want to open 10 windows to get to a folder buried deep in my subfolders. No apple mouse, I clicked, I didn't swipe your over touch sensitive scroll wheel. Sorry apple but I'd like to buy some new apps but I spent all of my money on you! No apple computer, I won't fuck you over if I try to undervolt your processor. Please let me, you're heating the room to 110F! I'd like to play some games but.. well.. you can only play Portal so many times. Hey at least my parents can use it though. No more bugging me when they open an email with a virus. They can finally easily edit pictures and videos too. So I guess it can't be all bad. I'm just biased :v:
This title means nothing, the stock price is inflated as FUCK and I can't wait until it crashes down.
Finally someone saw this. They will crash like Microsoft... [editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
You gotta admit, OS X is light years ahead of Windows. They actually have different features from eachother and then have core features they share.
Apple can do something good when it reaches exxon mobile, because I can guess that apple is going to die soon since there "updates" like ipad 1 and 2 are small changes, is to buy out exxon and rid the world of one of the biggest oil companies, stepping us closer to technology advances the oil companies stop us from reaching, so greedy. Instead of buying an ipod touch for $200, save that up and buy an open pandora.
Yeah well my iPad 2 has been sitting on my shelf collecting dust ever since I did my review, hated using that thing while my Xoom/Galaxy Tab 10.1 have received the well-deserved attention. Also the frontfacing camera is shit and the iPad 2 was a massive disappointment overall.
I'll gladly take it from you. [sp]Some people can't afford nice things[/sp]
Everything Apple has done had been done years before by another company on a cheaper product, and done better. Apple is like that slow kid with downs trying to ride a turtle backwards, but gains an audience because people like watching.
I like how Apple themselves, any a lot of Apple users like to claim that Apple basically invented modern day touch screen technology, which is funny because if I recall correctly Microsoft were working on the Microsoft surface for a long time before Apple were working on things like the iPhone. Sure, Apple beat them in terms of delivery time, and the surface is far from affordable for most people, but it bugs me that people try to argue that Apple was first at something when they clearly were not.

The most valuable company is Valve. It's priceless.
Rate me dumb if you will but I sincerely detest any sort of Apple product. From their music players to their computers, everything is overpriced/underperforming and the community that praises it is even worse, bunch of self-called 'hipsters' who are anything but.
This news is remarkable considering the position Apple was in just 10 years ago. In fact, we are nearing the 10 year anniversary of when the iPod was launched (October 23rd, 2001), which was definitely what really kicked off their growth, at least to me. That being said, I'm not big on Apple.

produced or designed by? there's a substantial difference
Wait what? Iphones use iOS not OS X.
The core of the operating system is the same. It's like Android vs Ubuntu. They both run the same Linux kernel. The entire Debian distribution supports 9 CPU architectures, even though the Linux kernel runs on far more than that. But Debian includes all the userland software as well.
apple offers 'premium' products
Ahahaha, apple offers inferior overpriced, overrated and overhyped products.
guys guys guys stop fighting. Your average end user is computer illiterate and values overly easy computers over efficiency and app support. Your average person just web browses too, so their only used apps are Safari as well as MS Office and iTunes. We on the other hand are the more 'nerdy' or 'techy' faction of the computer market. We have different tastes, values, and computer skills.
I disagree.
Have you heard of the massive faggot justinsbigidea? You can talk to him about that.
I'm surprised nobody has made the joke that they're $50 billion away, or in other words - 10 iPads away from it. If they have then... uhh :v:
My main problem with apple is their "Iphone 6, now with one more "magical" feature than Iphone 5. Buy it again!" marketing strategy. Especially when the features they add are usually things that seem intentionally left out of the older versions.
I'm kinda guilty of having bought an iPhone, but come on, there's no competition. iPhone is better than most of the Android phones, and it looks cool too. I don't regret buying it.

(I've never used any tablets, so I don't know about how their build quality compares) [editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
I'm kinda guilty of having bought an iPhone, but come on, there's no competition. iPhone is better than most of the Android phones, and it looks cool too. The Samsung Galaxy S, Evo4G, DroidX2, Nexus S, Optimus 2x, just to name a few.
I fail to see how this is possible when their quarterly market share for mobile device sales is less than 15%. The iOS platform is so fucking limited it isn't even funny. 80% of Android devices are leaps and bounds better than any iOS platform. Not only is the OS more open and user friendly, the phones are generally better designed. Almost all of the current gen Android devices are better than the iPhone 4. And I would definitely know I sell BOTH. iOS is dying and it's about time.
