Or how about no because not every marginally successful video game needs to have a movie adaptation.
BTW, Dead Space is derivative as fuck. It's just Resident Evil 4 combined with Aliens. I think the film would suffer for that.
Make us whole John.
But Hollywood wont give any money to it because it doesn't have a good love story in it.
(This was one of the reasons Guillermo del Toro didn't get any funding for a "In the mountains of madness" movie)
Well, it sorta has. You know, Isaacs girlfreind and all that jazz...
oh man that's so hype
also is it ever explained why Ellie just kind of fucked off between 2 and 3, I mean at the end of 2 it's like "omg bby you're awesome" and then the start of 3 is "lol yeah sorry Issac not with you anymore"
it hurt to see at first :(
If this ends up happening I hope there's a bunch of practical effects. That's kinda Carpenter's thing.
Because EA producers don't know what a plot is
theres two of them and they both suck
The first one was alright the second one is an abomination that should never see the sun, ever.
Dead Space was essentially a mix of Alien and The Thing...
so...
I have no problem if they made a dead space movie actually
screw that, where's ghosts of mars 2???? we need ice cube back in action yo

Yeah, I thought so too. Then they made her boring in 3. So I didn't care too much.

Ice Cube should play Sgt. Carver
that'd be AWESOME
Seeing as the games are a joke, but the story sounds pretty good, a movie sounds like it would be the best choice for the franchise.
Who told you that? Dead Space 1 and 2 are awesome games.
Dead Space one is a legimately dope ass third person shooter with survival horror elements, a strong atmosphere, tight gameplay and a fun intriguing plot.
Dead Space 2 continues that strong atmosphere, has a sillier plot, but the gameplay is tighter and more fun.
Dead Space 3 for the most part is pretty shit, the plot is incoherent and the gameplay's dumb

The "marker" story in Dead Space makes it special IMO.
I mean the ending of Dead Space 1 is pretty damn cool, and I'd love to see it made in a movie.
Just seeing a 10000000 ton piece of planet rushing towards you, as you push marker on a wheelbarrow.

Dead Space 3 never happened.
Shhhh
when you think about it though dead space is legit the most unoriginal game ever
1 tbs event horizon
1 tbs alien
2 tbs system shock
2 tbs Resident Evil 4
2 tbs The thing
a pinch of oregano
and salt
and boom
one dead space

metroid overpowers the flavour so I don't like to add it
If Carpenter actually works on this I'm in. It needs some work, though.
please don't fuck this up
game to movie is usually shit (and vise versa)
I trust Carpenter on this, sure he's gotten rusty recently from 'retirement'. But this just seems right up his alley.
He would be just the thing for this.
At least they should keep Isaacs suit. It works for Iron Man so why not for a space engineer?
Who told you that? Dead Space 1 and 2 are awesome games.
I liked the idea of them, as space-horror stuff I really like, but it just felt so goofy.
It was just a series of jumpscares and screamers followed by excessive grunting and stomping.
Now they could simply take some ques from the Dead Space games; environments, maybe even set the story in the same universe without it being related to the actual games at all.
But if they make a movie directly based off of the games, I can already tell you that if a movie was made, it would crash and burn.
pretty much everything to do with Dead Space that isn't the main three games elaborates on a character that was vaguely mentioned at some point in the series rather than recreate the games entirely. presumably they would do the same thing here
Dead Space was like a mix of 2001: A space Odyssey, Evil Dead and The Thing in one.
So I'll probably look forward to this but I doubt it'll turn out good.
Dead Space 3 for the most part is pretty shit, the plot is incoherent and the gameplay's dumb
i'll give you the incoherent plot but DS3 had the best gameplay of all of em, it was just implemented weirdly. weapon crafting is hype as shit man
I never played the game, but John Carpenter is the duke of spooks!
Tbh I really enjoyed Dead Space 3. And frankly, while the plot is riddled with holes there is a shit ton of details that if you sit and think about make up an amazing story behind it.
I'd prefer Nolan for direction

from award winning filmmaker Paul Worthless Shit Anderson.
Michael Myers makes a cameo, revealing he was a necromorph the whole time?
Regardless John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors.
